Not watching the Grammys. We actually were invited 2 years ago and had a great time. Unfortunately, I think that was the year of Green Day's 'American Idiot' win for best single. Moral of the Grammys? Bash America or it's conservative President and you're sure to win for 'Best' something!

Yeah, the music industry loves doing things like that in order to make what THEY think is a "profound" political statement. Whatever. It's sort of like the viewers of VH1 who logged on to the website to vote for "Not Ready to Make Nice" over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again to skew the vote and cause that song to be Number 1 for something like 13 straight weeks before the song had to be "retired" from the countdown.
I hope they had fun, but in the end, it really means nothing.

This is their latest tool to jump start the failed careers of former has-beens. Give them an award of some kind. Or have a wardrobe malfunction, etc,,,.

The Oscars are another example of how to make a worthless film nobody cares to see, into something of a well known film that nobody cares to see.

I didn't even tune in to the Grammies and could care less. Instead, watched DVD of "My Summer Story", the sequel to Jean Shepherd's "A Christmas Story". THAT was entertaining, and the hillbilly music played by the Parkers' neighbors, the Bumpuses or Bumpii, was better than the Chicks' tunes.

Be sure to check out The Great American Fourth of July and Other Disasters, if you can find a copy. It's from the Independence Day chapter of the same book that yielded A Christmas Story.

Which is why she's got worthless trophoes everyone knows had nothing to do with their music while Underwood has got Grammy's, though ones she actually earned, fans, hit music and a big career ahead of her. Oh, yeah, and she's actually gracious, pretty and young. Something the trio is certainly not.

Then again Nat never was too bright, she robably doesn'y recognize who the real winner was tonight.

Did you notice that Al Gore joined Queen Latifah to give the Best Rock Album award to the Red Hot Chili Peppers? What in blue blazes was HE doing there? He has nothing to do with music!

I wont even watch the Oscars....Talk about an agenda

I am sure the Dixie Chix will be presenting something.

I heard Carrie Underwood say very loud. I LOVE COUNTRY MUSIC>

I also Heard Mary J B. Say she takes the high road...she does somethiing positive with her music..

I think they were all speaking to the negative Dixie Chunks.....They stunk up the place tonight. It was a disgrace to see them on the same stage as talent like Carrie Mary J B. and Justin T. He should have won Album of the Year and Song of The Year. PC DC stunk up the place.

Of course they did, of course, of course. They were ordinary, but they spoke truth to power, don't you know. What else could you expect from the latest annual self-worship awards show?

Making sure that the tribute to Ed Bradley didn't look quite so absurd in its irrelevance to the music industry?

Yeah, I did a double-take when I saw his picture during the tribute to MUSICIANS who had passed on...

It's interesting that at the end of the show they put up a screen about how the "11,000 voting members" vote blah blah blah. Almost like CBS wanted to say "hey, it's not our fault, please don't watch Katie Couric less than the three of you do now, please!!???".

This was all political.

I'll say one thing, those Dixie Chiks are dumb as a box of rocks when they speak. Ug!

Exactly the friggin reason I don't watch these crappy shows. I have not heard 1 single new dipsie snipps song the entire year, yet somehow they manage 3 awards!? Must have been their headliner position at the canadien film festival with the movie about President Bush's assasination.

So they won for their politics instead of their music. No surprise.

Having listened to their last two albums, I have to say their stuff wasn't bad (discounting the politics), but grammy winning it wasn't.
