"Well as I said, it is not at all what I intended to say, and I would absolutely apologize if any of them felt that in some ways it had diminished the enormous courage and sacrifice that they'd shown. You know, and if you look at all the other speeches that I've made, that is always the starting point in my view of this war."
And they say President Bush mangles the English language!!

Just like John Kerry. "I really do think the troops are there for nothing. I believe that but I should have phrased it a tad more carefully."

I would absolutely apologize if any of them felt that in some ways it had diminished the enormous courage and sacrifice that they'd shown. In other words, "if you were too stupid to think that I was insulting these soldiers and their courage, then to you (you stupid SOB) I apologize."

First stumble my a##. His first stumble was belittling Australia's troop commitment, this was his second "stumble" in two days. Not ready for prime time.
To: Chi-townChief
In his first stumble, White House hopeful Barack Obama I thought his first stumble was when he tried to insult John Howard. Sounds like time to keep an official "Barack Obama Stumble, Mistake and Gaffe Tracker", so the media can refer to something.

The "joke" he made about evacuating New Orleans wasn't pretty either; I wonder if that can still be tracked down.

Just like Kerry, BHO believes our Troops are a bunch or under educated, forced-to-serve young men and women.
IMHO, he more likely feels their lives are wasted serving and protecting our freedoms. The man has no understanding of the world that we live in or the threats our Country faces.
It's a very frightening political scene right now, IMHO.

He regrets getting caught saying it.

[Hand raised. Waving back and forth]
OsamaObama was just trying to tell a botched joke.

What I would say and meant to say is that their service hasnt been honored, Mr. Obama told reporters in Nashua, N.H., because our civilian strategy has not honored their courage and bravery, and we have put them in a situation in which it is hard for them to succeed.
What a dipsy-doodle side-step dance, Obama.
Your Jon Carry moment: how to say nothing in 50 words or less.
Talk radio hosts are gonna have fun with that non-sensical apology for several days.
because our civilian strategy has not honored their courage and bravery..." [That doesn't even make sense,
Osama Obama.]
===
Mr. Obama said he would absolutely apologize
So, when is Obama entering mandatory rehab?
How many public apologies will he make before entering the treatment facility?
And who has the record for the most public apologies? Trent Lott? George Allen? Michael Richards?

New York Times ^ | February 13, 2007 Senator Barack Obama of Illinois said Monday that he had misspoken when he suggested that the lives of more than 3,000 American soldiers killed in Iraq had been wasted. As he arrived in New Hampshire, Mr. Obama said he would absolutely apologize to military families if they were offended by a remark he made in Iowa while criticizing the Bush administrations Iraq policy. What I would say and meant to say is that their service hasnt been honored, Mr. Obama told reporters in Nashua, N.H., because our civilian strategy has not honored their courage and bravery, and we...

He doesn't seem to think Islamofascism is a threat. That's actually pretty much the Democratic mainstream view these days. We have no enemies abroad.
