BRUSSELS, Belgium — An animal lover was mauled to death by cheetahs after entering their cage at a zoo in northern Belgium, authorities and zoo officials said Monday.

Why people believe that wild, vicious, predatory cats and other such beasts are safe to interact with is beyond me. (Maybe it was suicide by chetahs?)

I would love to pet a tiger or a lion. They are beautiful. But I am not crazy.

I think many people tend to anthropomorphize characteristics regarding dangerous animals. Nothing more beautiful than a Polar Bear which will kill you in a moments time if given the chance.

But they are beautiful. Don't pet the animals.

That was probably more than what Maureen O'sullivan wore in the Tarzan pictures. Anyway, I was amazed at the fact that Cheeta is still alive. He is 74 years old and the longest living Monkey.

Oh, I don't know ...perhaps if these dingbat liberals were able to properly attribute "human characteristics" to dangerous animals they would suspect that:

A. The animals are likely to be very angry at humanity for shooting them with dart guns and injecting them with sedatives;

B. For abducting them native lands; and relocating them to ugly urban areas infested with weirdos ;

C. For taking away their privacy and humiliating them by putting them on display for public amusement ;

D. For using them as unwilling fundraisers;

E. For locking them up in cages far smaller than their territories would be in the wild;

F. For using eminent domain to usurp their former properties;

G. For depriving them of hunting rights and sometimes even their only means of self defense;

H. For degrading them by depriving them of their independence and making them pathetic welfare cases;

I. For permitting them only institutional food in tightly controlled, "healthy" but unsatisfying quantities without even so much as a small, fuzzy, animated dessert;

J. For subjecting them to socialized health care;

K. For intruding in and controlling every aspect of their lives from birth, meddling in their sex lives, aborting "excessive" offspring; and euthanizing them in their old age;

L. For forcing them to work in cubicles and stand on concrete all day, etc.

Sooner or later any self-respecting carnivore is going to snag any liberal loon it can and rip it into slightly more useful bits ... only to find out that liberals taste just like the same crappy chicken that's always being doled out.

Since the woman wasn't supposed to be in the animals' enclosure, it's just plain stupid for some animal group to deny the smarter visitors a chance to see the zoo inhabitants.
