These kinds of threads always make me cry. My sympathies to you on the loss of your father.

I lost mine in August of 2003, he was WWII vet ETO.

We now face the slow demise of my father in law, another WWII vet and retired Navy man. He's suffering from dementia and it's been determined that he has to have 24 hr. supervision and can't go back home.

My oldest boy will under go Army basic training this summer.
