Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) believes it is his right as a Muslim to be sworn into Congress with the Quran. But apparently, the freshman lawmaker doesnt believe its Rep. Tom Tancredos (R-Colo.) right to smoke a cigar in his congressional office.
Ellisons office called the Capitol Hill Police on Tancredo last Wednesday night as Tancredo was in his office smoking a cigar. The lawmakers have neighboring offices on the first floor of the Longworth House Office Building.
Tancredo was still stunned a day later. Its very bizarre, said Tancredo, who has never met Ellison. Seemed to me not a good way to say hello.
And lets face it. Calling the cops on a colleague takes the cake for the nerviest behavior so far among members of this years freshman class of Congress.

According to one of Ellison's staff, cigar smoke was coming thru the wall that separated Tacfredo's and Ellison's offices.
I don't think we can blame this on Keith Ellsion in particular but I think it'd have been nice for Ellison's staffer to make a courtesy call to Tancredo's office is the smell was really that bad.

Calling the cops as a first resort?
Ellison is certainly showing what he's made of.
To: leadpenny
I have a feeling that Ellison is going to be a real treat over the next couple of years. LOL

Just out of curiosity, what's the law for the rest of the workers on Capitol Hill?

I hope that Tancredo complains about Elison's body odor.
Not a freindly way to do things. Always swing by the office and ask nicely if he could smoke outside because the smell really bothers him. So easy and much nicer but he is a Dem and that sort of manly common courtesy is beneath them.

"According to one of Ellison's staff, cigar smoke was coming thrum the wall that separated Tacfredo's and Ellison's offices..."
I call BS on this. Those office walls aren't that thin.
What it is, is a bunch of lefty barking moonbats who simply KNOW he's smoking a cigar. They don't have to see it, they don't have to smell it, they know when he does it.
Sooooo, being their typical lefty selves, they decided to throw their weight around.
I CAN and WILL blame Ellison and his moonbat staff. They are louts and poltroons of the worst sort.

First Senator Webb's boorish behavior, now this. I see a trend.
To: MplsSteve
Ellison is an activist Muslim looking for trouble.
You'd think that Pelosi would have the common sense not to put Ellison's office next to Tancredo's, but brains is not her strong suit.
To: fishtank
Notify the Chef to deliver it to Ellison's office !
YUM !
To: MplsSteve
This is EXACTLY how the Muslims are fighting here in the U.S., the "wear 'em down" brigade nitpicks every last little thing, complains and whines and don't forget the OUTRAGE!
drip...drip...drip. BTW, congratulations to NYC on establishing a Muslim only high school for next year. Is it located anywhere near the massive crater left by the WTC?

I call BS on this. Those office walls aren't that thin. I also, unless the walls are made of cheesecloth, find it hard to believe that smoke travelled through the wall into Ellison's office.

Uh, why would Tancredo be smoking a cigar in his office? Does DC allow smoking in the workplace in some situations? I didn't think that kind of thing was allowed anywhere in the U.S. any more.

While it's wrong to smoke a cigar in a public place, it defies common cortesy to call the police on this without having tried to resolve the issue by asking him to put it out.

Ah Come on guys.. we gotta be a little subtle here.....
I once had a boat and in the slip next to me was a real a$$hole.. had his boat name was "Arrogance at Sea"(cane you see the type)...Well he never came down to the dock on Fridays but I did....SOOOoooooo late at night I'd go over and pee on his dock lines and cleats.. It gave me great pleasure to sit with my Saturday morning coffee and watch him untie his boat then wipe his brow..
So what I'm sayin here is just rub bacon grease on the door knobs of the mens room and his office....
