Welcome the MSM tagline for the next three days:

Despite falling four votes short of breaking a GOP filibuster, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) claimed a symbolic victory in the fight over the Iraq War today as Democrats mustered a bipartisan majority of 56 lawmakers to support taking up a resolution opposing President Bush’s plan to increase U.S. troop levels in the war-torn country.

Please don't insert logic into the equation. The bar is already so high for this particular congress. Granted, most patriots would trip over the bar.

"He's a treasonous commie bastard."

IMPOSSIBLE. True Commies share and share alike, (right?) whereas Harry has profited like a rapacious Capitalist...

Maybe he's a Fiscal Conservative....

He assumes the White House will not challenge his statements and the NYT will carry his words all the way until they become accepted as truth.

"Hussein Harry" is a treasonous pile of moldy camel chips who's only agenda is to flex his girlie man muscles in furtherance of his cowardly cut and run politics.

He was no doubt the kind of puny little runt that got the crap kicked out of him every day at recess and got his lunch money taken.

"Today, a bipartisan majority of the United States Senate voted against the President's flawed plan to escalate the war.

No they didn't. Talk about spin. There was no vote because the dems didn't have 60 votes.

"Today, a bipartisan majority of the United States Senate voted against the President's flawed plan to escalate the war. "

Reid is banking heavily on the "bandwagon effect" in American politics.

This is the phenomenon whereby many voters base their decisions on issues (or candidates) on primarily one factor: They want to be on the "winning" side.

(Political strategists know that in every presidential election, a significant number of voters won't make up their minds on how to vote until they see which way the wind is blowing.)

This propaganda technique is clearly in play with the so-called global warming issue. We are told, day-in-and-day-out, that the "vast majority" of "scientists" have "determined" that "man-made global warming" is "real," and that anyone who would dare dispute this "fact" is "in denial" or "stupid."

The result is that masses of lemming-like people --from John McCain and Rudolph Giuliani, to your average worker at the water cooler-- have bought into the "man-made global warming is a certainty" argument.

Reid's strategy is to convince this gullible section of the public to believe that since a "majority" think as he does, then they should think so too. Doesn't matter if the whole thing is a lie.

You can always go to my profile page and click, "In forum," to see where I've been, and what I've been up to. I generally like the internet, but it does make it hard to cover your tracks ;-)

Well, it's a non-binding resolution, so they might was well claim a non-existant vote.
