"Did we ever hear from the investigation of the suicide bomber at that Texas college? "

Yup, the search warrants were posted, the investigation details were discussed, I think Michelle Malkin has a good summary of the articles.

Plus there's lots of stuff on FR about it. There was not a lot to cover once all the people to be interviewed coordinated their stories and all said the same thing.

The coverage of Trolley Square has been thin, I think for a variety of reasons. One is, of course, the evil one is Muslim.

Second, he did not use a semiauto firearm (neither were). There was a mass shooting at a health club somewhere south of LAX many years back- someone walked in and shot three people iirc then himself. At first, media glee (the CA assault weapons ban was new) then when it was discovered that he had used a double-barrel, complete loss of interest from the press. Nothing to exploit and it may wake up the hunters.

"State law restricts juveniles under 18 from possessing handguns and juveniles under 14 from possessing other firearms without parental permission or authorized supervision. But children 14 and older may possess rifles and shotguns, including semiautomatic assault weapons, without parental permission."

From the Brady people (first that popped up). Federally he could not buy a handgun from a federal dealer. But a pump or semiauto shotgun, fer sur.

Milosevic: "And when they behead your own people [...] then you will know what this was all about."

Wow. I haven't heard that quote one before. I believe that, due to the tolerance of all other religions, Islam most likely WILL win this war eventually, because, well, what do we do....kill 'em all? We will allow them to keep going about their business until it is we who are the minority...it's just a matter of how and when. I'm curious to know what areas/regions have (or should I say "had") the most Christian churches per square mile...I wouldn't be surprised if #1 and #2 are/were the two regions they are fighting over currently.

The government should be spending a lot more on social programmes so that this doesn't happen again. [/sarcasm]

"I read an article here today, either by Mark Steyn or Christopher Hitchens, that comments that in retrospect the Serbian activities are coming to make a little more sense to us now."

I have been searching for this article for some time now, could you, or anyone else, perhaps give me some help finding it?

I was thinking about all this last night, and I think the reason the authorities cover up for Muslims is partly based on PC.....

The media and authorities especially cover up for "Bosnian" muslims, because "Bosnia" is a darling of the liberal establishment!!!!

Here in the liberal area in which I live, there are many friends of "Bosnia". However, I always say the truth as I know it, that "Bosnia" is a metastasizing cancer, and an artificial creation of the "international community"!

So some of these liberals dismiss me as a "Serb extremist". However, the truth will out.

It's by Christopher Hitchens. Here it is: http://www.city-journal.org/html/17_1_urbanities-steyn.html

It's an interesting article, although I think he's being a little overly optimistic in his belief that most Muslims don't harbor Islamist thoughts. In any case, he mentions the situation of the Serbs that led to the problems in Bosnia, and says something to the effect of "although I do not want to concede that the Serbian-fascist ethnic cleansing may have been more rational..."

A friend of his, Enes Kadic, claims he did go to Sulejman's house and play video games. He said Sulejman had a fascination with violent video games and movies.

http://deseretnews.com/dn/view/0,1249,660197094,00.html

Violent video games?
Kadic described Talovic as a quiet boy who wasn't very talkative. He said Talovic kept mostly to himself and didn't leave his house after school. At least once a week, however, Kadic would convince his friend to watch movies at his house or play video games at Talovic's house.
"Combat games, fighting games, Super Mario ... " Kadic said, recalling the types of video games they would play.
Talovic also seemed to like movies with violence, he said.
"He liked watching fighting movies. He liked watching those fist-fighting movies and movies where they shoot each other. He liked watching those type of movies," Kadic said.
In hindsight, Kadic believes Talovic did seem to have a fascination with violent video games and movies. Although Kadic claims to have played video games in Talovic's home, police said that when they searched the home they found the family did not own a video game system, any games or a computer.
…Kadic is not convinced that violent video games and movies are solely to blame, although they may have been a factor.
"I think someone pushed him to do it, and he just went for it. He probably just said, 'Screw it. My life's not worth it.' He was just pushed to do it," he said. "I think a lot of that (video games and movies) had an effect. But at the same time, I think someone pushed him. The first thing that came to my mind was the video games and movies he watched."
Talovic's family believes someone gave him the shotgun, pistol and ammunition, pushing him to commit the killings. They don't know who that person is.

The fact that his friend claims he played video games at Sulejman's yet police say there was no such system, shows the police didn't do a thorough search or perhaps the family got rid of it between the last time Enes Kadic played there and the day of the shooting.

They probably routinely say things in all mosques that can be interpreted as "get a gun and kill as many Christians and Jews as you can!" Most Muslim listen, nod their head, and wait for somebody else to do it first.

They don't have to, it's written in black and white in the Koran:

Sura (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued."

the authorities have decided that there's sort of an acceptable kill-level that we will tolerate

The-frog- in-the-kettle syndrome.

We have been told that the WOT is to keep the violence overseas, not at home. If your premise is true, then the WOT is a lie, unless it is accompanied by an overthrow of the PC culture.

That is where we, the average citizen can play a role.

We need to keep up the heat on the MSM, and make it clear why.

They are lying to us, and complicit in this acceptable kill-level unofficial policy.

Your insight is tremendously important.

Our so-called leadership need to be backed into a corner and asked repeatedly if they do have an unofficial policy of an "acceptable kill level."

The response on their part should be to take a cue from PM Howard of Australia, Jack Straw of UK and others who, on behalf of their own national culture have made it clear that Islamism has no place in their nations.

Kowtowing to CAIR with "sensitivity training FROM THEM has got to stop, replaced by reading them the Riot Act about their "Mosque Culture."

OTOH, most of our so-called leadership has been bought off by Saudi money.

That is why I find Guiliani appealing.

He is the only one who has had the MANHOOD to turn down a Saudi Blood Money Buyoff after 9-11.

He's the only one who appears to "get it."

There is another difference between Columbine-type events and Sudden Jihad Syndrome (SJS) events.

Columbine-type shooters have a hit-list and go after specific individuals.

The SJS shooters, stabbers, and hit-and-runners attack total strangers.

On the other hand, we do ourselves a disservice to immediately jump to conclusions and look for evidence of that meets a predetermined view rather than letting the facts lead to a conclusion.

After the umpteenth Sudden Jihad Syndrome attack, in which the perpetrator's religion is hidden, the bleeding-hearts make excuses and the cops/FBI declare "no terrorism," the prudent person has to go, "hhhhmmmmmmmmm!"

We have had a number of incidents in which Americans have been killed by random, lone-wolf Islamic terrorists

Here's an incomplete list of Sudden Jihad Syndrome terrorists, almost all of whom were described as acting alone by the cops and/or FBI.  Their acts -- murder, attempted murder, battery and destruction of property -- were almost universally described as, "not terrorism."

In almost every case, the fact that they were members of the Religion of Peace was the last piece of information revealed by the media -- if revealed at all.  Often we would never know except for some obscure blogger.

Once identified as Muslims, a chorus of bleeding heart apologists always rises, providing defenses, causes and excuses for the horrific acts of these terrorists.

Ali Abu Kamal
Palestinian English teacher Ali Abu Kamal went to the 86th floor observation deck of the Empire State Building, pulled out a gun, and opened fire, killing one person and wounding six others before killing himself.

Ali R. Warrayat
An Arizona Home Depot employee jumped out of the car’s path. To drown out the man’s yells, Warrayat reached over to his car radio and blasted Arabic music before crashing through the front doors.

Charles Bishop (Bishra)
A note written by the 15-year-old boy who crashed a Cessna into a Tampa office building indicated he supported Osama bin Laden and that the act was deliberate, authorities say.

Haider Mohammed
Contacted by Palm Springs Police, FBI investigators described Muslim who was arrested after threatening to 'Kill All Jews' as "not a person of interest."

Hesham Mohamed Ali Hadayet
The suspect, Egyptian-born Hesham Mohamed Ali Hadayet, left two people dead and five injured at the El Al airlines ticket counter at Los Angeles International Airport before being fatally shot by a security guard.

Ibrihim Ahmed
Cab driver, Ibrihim Ahmed, tried to run over two customers and was arrested and charged with assault, attempted homicide and theft.  One of the passengers, Andrew Nelson, managed to outrun the cab but Jeremy Invus was taken to the Vanderbilt University Medical Center with serious injuries.

John Muhammad
Federal prosecutors filed a criminal complaint, charging Beltway Sniper John Muhammad with 20 felony counts, including extortion and intent to commit murder.

Marc Lepine (Gamal Gharbhi)
For 45 minutes on Dec. 6, 1989 an enraged gunman roamed the corridors of Montreal's École Polytechnique and killed 14 women.

Mohammed Ali Alayed
After apparently undergoing a religious awakening, a Saudi Arabian student in Houston killed his Jewish friend by slashing his throat.

Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar
Just-graduated student named Mohammed Reza Taheri-azar, 22, and an Iranian immigrant, drove a sport utility vehicle into a crowded pedestrian zone at University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. He struck nine people.

Naveed Afzal Haq
Eyewitnesses told the Seattle News that Mr. Haq announced, "I'm a Muslim American; I'm angry at Israel," and then began shooting. He killed one woman and wounded five others.

Omeed Aziz Popal
Up to 14 hurt in San Francisco hit-and-run spree. Seven are critical. The driver believed to have struck and killed a man in Fremont earlier.

Sayed Khaled El-Waraky
The Virginia college student drove his Jaguar into a crowd outside the Glen Cove Golf Club, injuring four young men, two critically. "He accelerated up the center lane of the parking lot and into the crowd. Bodies were tossed in the air," said a bystander.

Sulejman Talovic
Police Tuesday identified the gunman accused in Monday night's Trolley Square shooting as Sulejman Talovic, an 18-year-old Bosnian refugee who lived in Salt Lake City.  In a video recording  of the event, Sulejman is heard yelling "Allah Akbar, Allah Akbar," -- followed by gunfire.

When you have victims of Sudden Jihad Syndrome piling up all over the country, the reasonable person would conclude -- that's terrorism.

Whether the root cause of these savage attacks is in the genes of these maniacs, their religion or the result of a conspiracy is completely irrelevant.

When Serbs had such problems Western media painted them as evil and NATO attacked them.

And General Wesley Clark led the charge.

Nothing wrong with that. I totally agree that the religious aspect absolutely must be looked into. My point is that we also look foolish if we yell islamic terror each time this stuff occurs before we know any facts (including the shooters religion). This has happened several times here and other sites with folks finding out later that the shooter/perp wasn't islamic at all.

Currently, the cops still can't find a motive - but I also know how PC oriented the Mayor is. If they can't come out with a motive, I am more inclined to believe his religion played a role: he apparently practiced his religion (went to the Mosque) and he perpetrated a random (no history with the mall or anyone shot) shooting at a site (mall) long known to be a potential target of terroists. Even if he was 'mad' at society, why the mall vs his neighborhood or job site?...

Hopefully more details will come out. It would be nice to know where he got the handgun.

Finally, I forgot - does anyone know how much time between his last Mosque visit and the shooting? Days? Hours?...I can't remember if any of the articles mentioned anything other than he occasionally went to prays.
