Rep. Duncan Hunter on Pundit Review Radio (excellent 30 minute audio interview)
Pundit Review ^ | Monday February 19th, 2008 | Kevin

Posted on 02/19/2007 7:57:07 AM PST by ajolympian2004

Last night we welcomed Congressman Duncan Hunter, (R-CA), to Pundit Review Radio. Rep. Hunter is one of the leading conservative candidates running for President.

Rep. Hunter was incredibly generous with his time, spending more than 30 minutes with us discussing a wide range of topics. Of course, we asked him about the anti-surge, non-binding resolution that was passed this weekend. He had some pointed criticism of his colleagues, and questioned how much they understood about the surge, from a tactical level. According to the Rep. Hunter, it is all about politics, and has little to do with the surge itself.

We also talked about immigration, as Hunter has one of the toughest stances on this issue in Congress. He spoke of the fence that runs along the San Diego border and how effective it has been. We also asked him what should be done about the Border Agents who have been thrown in jail for a dozen years for shooting a drug smuggler. We took some great calls from WRKO listeners who asked what separated Hunter from the leaders in the GOP race, like McCain, Rudy and Romney.

My favorite part of the interview was when Rep. Hunter opened up about his own family, he talked eloquently about his father and how the call to military service was passed to him, and now, on to his son. Speaking of his son, Congressman Hunter told a great story about his son’s decision to join the military on 9-11, it is incredibly inspirational.

This guy is solid and deserves strong consideration for your vote for president in the Republican primaries. To learn more about his campaign, click here. We look forward to having him back on Pundit Review Radio as the campaign heats up in the coming weeks.

This interview is also available for download at iTunes and Podcast Alley.

Yep, I agree. Just finished listening. I look forward to seeing Duncan Hunter and all the other candidates on the same stage in a debate. I think that is where people will have the best chance to observe a crystal clear contrast between candidates on the issues, leadership potential, etc.

That's what I noticed right away. If I didn't know his background beforehand it would have been my guess that he has served in the military.

Giuliani would beat her in the South AND probably in a couple of Northern States.

Where Rudy would fail is seemingly paradoxically in swing states where conservatives will stay home once the Democrats make his liberal history glaringly plain.

Your claim that Rudy supports illegal "amnesty" is misleading. It's not amnesty. It's called "earning it" and most Americans support this plan.

Your source for that claim that 'most Americans support' it?

illegal immigrants already here for 5 years stay & work if they learn English, pay back taxes and a fine, and have no criminal record.

OK, even IF your point about amnesty is right, what about the rest of Rudy's left-liberal positions as presented in Spiff's handy-dandy chart?

Hello? Can't HEAR you!

PS - Scooter Libby says 'pfffffffft!'

The liberals would be hurting themselves if they accused Giuliani of supporting gay civil unions and other liberal social policies. They would be accused of hypocrisy.br>
WHEN have liberals ever allowed charges of 'hypocrisy' to stop them?

You are surely not THAT naive are you?

Glad to see Hunter's page up - talking about the war on terror and Iraq....something Obama and Clinton have only talked about in the context of cut and running or as Clinton now says "If I knew then what I know now......" Such a convenient way out of her convictions to please her base...what a lousy president she would make….is not in question.

"Surge", drive by media speak, should not be confused with 'troop enhancement', a normal action during war time. .
