Over the weekend, John McCain said in Iowa, "One of the things I would do, the first day I am President of the United States, is close Guantanamo Bay. I would close it and I would move those prisoners to Fort Leavenworth. It's become a symbol, which is very bad for America."

The sad truth is that the MSM is building you up so they can tear you down when you run against Hillary. And it will be so easy too: The Keating Five, Your Adultry, Your Temper, Your Age, .... Thankfully the fact that you are the Senator who has alienated the most Republicans (with the possible exception of Hagel and Spector) guarantees that you will never even be nominated.

Does he really believe that letting our enemies dictate where and how we will detain illegal enemy combatants will make any of them hate America less? Puhleeze.

If we closed Gitmo, they'd just find a new target, just as, once Newt Gingrich was gone, the Left discovered Tom DeLay.
For the Left, unless there's a full-on Communist regime running everything, then there must be some sort of "crisis" that they'll demand immediate action on. Giving the moonbats what they want is never a good idea.
