GAZA, Feb. 22 (UPI) -- A U.N. report said nearly half of Palestinian households in Gaza and the West Bank do not have enough food. The report said 46 percent of Gaza and West Bank families are "food insecure" or face the possibility of becoming food insecure in the near future, and many of those households desperate for nourishment are selling off assets that will have an "irreversible impact on livelihoods," YNetNews said Thursday.
An unpublished draft prepared by the U.N. World Food Programme and the Food and Agriculture Organization was obtained by Britain's Independent newspaper.
The U.N. report, which is aimed at assessing the impact of the international boycott placed on the Hamas-led Palestinian Authority, said the food shortage "is primarily a function of restricted economic access to food resulting from ongoing political conditions."
The problem is especially acute in Gaza, where four out of five families lack even the most basic food items, the Independent said. Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said his government will continue talks with Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas to work to improve the quality of life in the Palestinian territories, the Jerusalem Post said.
Tells me all I need to know about these folks.
Maybe they could eat some of that candy they were handing out when they were celebrating 9/11?
never seem to have a lack of guns or bombs though..
I guess I can be counted as food insecure or having the possibility of food insecurity in my future. Of course my payday is next week, I'm not tearing up the infrastructure, I'm not telling my kids to blow themselves up, I am not blaming my problems on Zionism/America, and I am responsible for my own actions. Maybe if they tried two or more of those things ...
You can't live on making bombs as a steady diet.
Hate isnt a food!
they should try working to create wealth instead self-hating destrcution. They might consider taking the high road of beautiful living instead of their defacto ugliness
It is saddening to see how a few bombers can spoil it for everyone.
This could just be one starving kid they move around Gaza for the camera crews to film.
If the Palies would stop blowing themselves up, they'd have time to do the work required to feed themselves.
Yup. Let's get the reporter and his news service an Oscar or Grammy for the guilt trip.
Perhaps you should reconsider.
This is a UN report.
I classify those exactly the same as reports in the US by the welfare and charity industries to the effect that "women and children", specially go hungry most of the time. Most Americans, even.
Awww, too bad they looted and destroyed those GREENHOUSES that Israel left them as a good will gesture. That could have provided some food... Oh yeah, they claimed they were poisoned...
They should have gone after Arafat's estate.
All this tells me is that islam, the cancer killing the world today, is driving policy at the UN.
When a UN report is released assessing the impact of mass murder by muslims against Israel, I might consider this sort of thing as more that cruel sick jokes.
"never seem to have a lack of guns or bombs though.."
and all those pretty scarves and head gear to hide their faces. Those don't look cheap!!!!
Apparently their elected leader thought the people would enjoy a diet of bullets. That is the only thing in those territories in abundance.

1. Graft.
2. Suicide bombs.
3. Kassam Rockets.
4. Other arms and ammo.
5. More graft.
6. Food.
I stopped reading after "U.N. report".
Believing anything out of the UN is on the same level of psychosis as believing anything Hillary says (or any Dem or RINO).

This bogus report originated in The Independent, the UK's mouthpiece of militant terrorists (as opposed to The Guardian, UK mouthpiece of moderate terrorists).
Exactly! Where are all the BILLIONS Arafat stole from those he claimed to care about? Billions every nation who "donated" knew Arafat was skimming from.
Let them eat rockets.
The report said 46 percent of Gaza and West Bank families are "food insecure.
They have no one to blame but themselves.
Maybe if they hadnt destroyed the greenhouses and everything else in their paths.
If the miserable bastards would spend as much time learning to FARM and then work the fields, instead of learning how to make bombs and spending their time protesting -- perhaps they could feed their sorry asses..
Personally, I couldn't care less if every miserable militant Islamist starved to death... EVERY DAMNED ONE OF THEM.

They could eat for years on what Suha spend on shoes in a week.
Hell, these people seem to thrive on hate!
Or is it, that they've been consumed by hate?
Either way -- I all out of compassion for militant, murderous, protesting, pushy Islamists...
F'em all.

Oh, I understand the inherently bogus and propagandistic nature of the "report". That said, even ardent Zionists must admit the fine folks who dwell in Gaza aren't exactly leading the world in nutritional quality...and that they have no one to blame but themselves.
Yeah, I get hungry about 3 times every day. It's a bitch!! I feel for them.
A U.N. report said nearly half of Palestinian households in Gaza and the West Bank do not have enough food. The report said 46 percent of Gaza and West Bank families are "food insecure" or face the possibility of becoming food insecure in the near future,
So are they hungry right now? Or do they risk becoming "food insecure" in the future? And what in the world does "food insecure" really mean? I think a lot of the truth can be hidden by that definition.
Maybe next time the Israelis pull out of some land they'll leave behind some greenhouses. Oh, wait, they did that already and the Arabs destroyed them.
If the Palis are hungry...all they have to do is kick out the lunatics of hamas, recognize Israel, go to work and prosper. But alas...the Palis are also muslims, therefore have little sense.
They would rather send their children to blow up people, so that the people that they blow up put more pressure on them so they can get even hungry-er.
If we are really lucky, enough of them will die of starvation that even the most hard-headed, lunatic, murdering mohamadian can get it thru his mostly bone head, that joining civilization might be a good idea.
When their leaders are primarily concerned about how many schools and factories they want to use as terrorist missile launching pads, hunger cannot be far behind for the average Palestinian.
Maybe, history will begin to see a mass "exodus" from "Palestine" by average Palestinians who choose to take their lives, and maybe even dreams of peace, elsewhere. There certainly is a better future for their children anywhere outside the control of their self-appointed leaders.

Elections have consequences...and life is harder when you're stupid.
Good ;-)
Well, if that's what the UN Report says, I apologize and stand corrected...
"Nearly half of Palestinians hungry..." (until they have breakfast)
It is all they grow these days.
The edge of a sword seems to be the norm now.
Exactly.
Let them eat bombs.
Just imagine how hungry they would be if they started spending all that aid money on weapons instead of food.
Ahhh- I can hardly say it better!
I don't care HOW the planet is rid of them, just that it is.
I searched half-heartedly for my ' Give A Damn'---nope, don't have any! Let'em eat oil, or bombs, or each other. Not a scintilla of pity or compassion here.
Why does the media think there should be?
Wait a minute... They belong to a death cult that hates life! So why is death by starvation a bad thing?
Eating promotes life, so it's bad. What kind of Muslim wants to live when Islam says death is so much better?
Shouldn't we be happy for them?
Shouldn't they be happy for each other?
