I never did.....you somehow extrapolated that ..I like to shoot full auto...I like semi autos too....I wasnt comparing them...just saying that if I were to get a full auto (after moving to an appropriate state and giving the feds their pound of flesh)...it would be a thompson or a grease gun...something that I think is cool looking...black guns are too sterile to me....no soul. I however was not confused between the two( and since Bush 41 limited by year of manufacture the age of the full auto I can get, I suppose that would limit the amount of black colored guns available.....).
I know the definition of assault rifle and it is fully auto....but then of course, the ban monkeys in congress...took those semi auto rifles that had that 'assault rifle' look to it and lumped them in and called them assault rifles, which they are not.

They keep trying to blur the line between semi- and full-auto, using it for bait-and-switch.
Methinks we should flank 'em by actually calling their bluff and demanding a repeal of 922(o) - the post-'86 full-auto ban.
Get the "happy switch" back, and all that quasi-cosmetic stuff becomes completely irrelevant. Stop fighting on the ground they choose, and cut 'em off at the source of such bans. For all the effort gone into fighting AWBs, surely we could have eliminated the one sentence that laid the groundwork in '86.
Not as small as you might wish. If you take the time to cruise some of the "hunting blogs", there is a sizable contingent who feel exactly the same sentiments that Zumbo mouthed off. They don't want "their" precious "right to hunt" contaminated by the "bad image" that "black rifles" are "tainted with". Seeing such weapons on a hunt might "scare some voters".
I got news for the Fudds---the leftists don't respect your "right to hunt" any more than they respect my "right to keep and bear arms". See PETA.

What's a black gun?
uzi, ar-15, m-16, FN FAL, HK mp5...etc. modern military 'looking' guns. (it seems looks of guns has been responsible for the so called 'feel good' laws that the left has used to ban.....things like flash hiders and bayonette lugs have had to be removed from new guns for sale with the signing of the so called assault rifle bill back in bush 41's administration...but thank God this bill had a sunset clause.....but watch out...the anti's are back on track to try it again....)
my personal tastes in semi and full auto guns are older...(and so are my tastes in other style action guns...)
....I like the older military guns...too...like M14(M1A1), M1, M1A, 1903, 1903a3, Krag Jorgenson, Trapdoor springfield....
...that is just my personal taste....

Thanks for the fine reply. I think my favorite is a 1918(?) Enfield made by the Springfield Armory. Please correct my description if you think it's wrong. I'm not sure if the sight on it is the trapdoor you describe, but it is very unique. The dealer said it was valuable.

Has Zumbo even acknowledged the existence of the 2nd Amendment at all? His original rant didn't mention it, and his first apology didn't either. I haven't read any of his other apoligies, if indeed there are any others.

Never heard of the guy, must be a legend in his own mind, but then guns to me are more important than hunting. Prairie dogs are not considered my enemy, but people like dumbo and their crazy ideas vis-a-vis, hunting and the US Constitution, are. Ted Nuggent has more patience and compassion than I do.

To say that my group of soldiers, officers, shooters, hunters, friends, and I were angry at you for your fallacious and irresponsible comments concerning the weapons that we bet our lives on every day can not be conveyed in our actual words of anger in this civil forum. To say you became our enemy would be a monumental understatement of the past two millenniums!!! You became a traitor in our book!!!
Like Judas that was once Jesus Christ’s most beloved, like Benedict Arnold who was once George Washington most trusted Lieutenants, and you, who we thought to be our champion of our 2nd Amendment Rights, and hunting guru betrayed us all with your ignorance and hypocrisy!!!
