First of all, I never claimed to be a conservative. I never denied it either. Second, my post is the total opposite of anti-military. I am totally pro-military. I am for sending our boys to wherever they need to be in the world and equipping and funding them until the job is done. I am for the strategy we used in WW II when our goal was not to placate the enemy, but to demoralize them until they surrender. I have full confidence in our militancy ability to win any war they are allowed to fight.

However, the three obstacles I mentioned in the article are the very three reasons we lost in Korea (no--it wasn't a tie--we lost), in Vietnam, and we are about to lose in Iraq as well. They are the same three reasons we will not win any war in the future. The American voters have no stomach for war as it was fought in WW II. We now have to fight politically correct wars where POW's are given 5-star hotel accommodations and not a single innocent citizen in the enemy country is injured. How can we ever expect our boys to operate at full efficiency and win any war when the main thing on the minds of Americans is "When do we get to bring our boys home?" rather than "What more can we do to win this war?"

However, since I live in the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia,

Me too (relatively conservative northern San Diego county). I recently spent 12 years in the belly of the beast in the Bay Area and attended Cal in the 60's so I've had plenty of chances to encounter lib's.

There's no point in talking to many of them, but not all.

Democrats are just doing what democrats have done since Vietnam--giving encouragement and 'aid-and-comfort' to the enemies of the US. And yes, they do it even MORE PASSIONATELY and MORE VOCALLY during 'time of war'!

That is just WHAT MODERN DEMOCRATS DO.

In a different time in our country's history--those actions would have been given a particular name. Treason is the word that comes to mind first.

Anticipating confrontation the Joint Chiefs of Staff asked Reagan for clear rules of engagement: What should American pilots do if attacked? Do we allow “hot pursuit? Reagan’s answer? “ All the way to the hanger.”

This should've done for the last 18 months or so that we have known that Iran was attacking our Military in Iraq.

Nailed It!
Moral Clarity BUMP !

This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for the perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author all 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately  on  my page.
You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about). Besides this one, I keep 2 separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card.

While this is a great list showing why America can't afford a Democrat President elected in 2008, it should also be viewed by all as a list of reasons why Democrats shouldn't be elected to congress and representing the people of the 50 states. Other than Lieberman, there isn't a Demo senator who takes the WOT seriously. There are probably a few Demo congress-critters who are decent on defense/intelligence issues, I can't think of one off-hand. Unfortunately, the drive-by media does nothing to shine a spotlight on these issues and the need for stronger defense and fortitude in the WOT. Sadly, it makes you wonder about the future of our country.
