- AL GORE, THE OSCAR, THE NOBEL, THE CLINTONS + DAVID GEFFEN
Gore is taking the outside route but definitely is seeking to run. He can ride his environmental hobby horse to the endearment of all the idiots out there, and avoid all the internecine slashing and burning in the process. Gore remembers Nixon after his 1960 and 1962 defeats, coming back in 1968 to take it all. After hillary and obama beat each other up some more, Gore will look like water in the desert to exasperated 'rats.--hinckley buzzard

delicious scenario, although Al Gore seems content with his cushy post-pol life. An Oscar or Nobel increases the odds that he will take the plunge, one would think....
One has to wonder what the clintons are thinking tonight about Al Gore's Oscar nomination, given Geffen.
For that matter, one has to wonder what the clintons are thinking right now about Gore's Nobel Peace Prize nomination, considering the lengths to which they've gone over the years to snare the prize for themselves: They've lobbied the Nobel committee, let bin Laden escape and trashed America on foreign soil. For starters....

P.S. Al Gore won tonight. Is Hollywood sending hillary clinton a message?

Totally gross yet entirely predictable that Alger "Hiss" Gore and his global warming screeds are deemed the highest of artistic form amongst the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. Hoo haa.
He wants ot run and, more precisely, be President that one can nearly smell it over the TV! Hoo haa. Hoo haa.

There has been bad blood between Gore and Hillary since 2000. Gore believed that Hillary's senate run diverted a lot of Democrat donor cash that should have gone to his campaign.

I should be in bed but your post was too funny. "algore gets a nobel - algore dies in a plane crash/car crash/boat crash/elevator crash/bicycle crash ... anyway, it was an accident, dammit!"
Algore gets stabbed repeatedly by his pencil, gets electrocuted by the coffee pot, gets attacked by his killer cat, slips in the bathtub and hits his head on the soap dish, gets run over by his lawn mower, and the list goes on.

Remember what Tipper said about Gore and his daddy...
'Al has a way of looking at you like his eyes are kind of burning,' said Nashville Tennessean reporter John Warnecke. You would get that when you mentioned his dad'.
Asked in a 1987 interview about relations between father and son, Tipper Gore said:'You remember Oedipus?' She quickly added that she was kidding, sort of. 'You had a very powerful father - a hero to many people - and a son coming to maturity and learning to find his own dignity.'

From HILLARY "Zelig" CLINTON: WHEN A CONGENITAL LIAR'S RUTHLESS AMBITION EXCEEDS HER ABILITY:
This brilliant Alinsky-clinton observation by beyond the sea is the perfect segue to an analysis of Alinsky's influence on hillary clinton... which leads inexorably to hillary rodham's closely guarded Wellesley thesis. (Plan to do an extended piece on that shortly.) In the Wellesley thesis, hillary discussed "how to change the American political culture." This discussion occurred in the context of a tribute to the leftist political organizer, her mentor, Saul Alinsky.
Does missus clinton reveal her own thoughts on the radicalization and even balkanization of the American political process? We can't yet say with certainty because the thesis has been sealed--closed to public scrutiny--from the moment missus clinton insinuated her radicalizing, balkanizing, liquidating self onto the national political stage. If I had to guess, I would say she adopted Saul Alinsky's theories and practices without modification: hillary clinton exhibits no creativity, no vision of her own and tends to glom onto the latest fashion, whether it's Alinsky's Stalinist methods... or New Age occultism, recall her attraction to the teachings of
- Marianne Williamson, who some described as a "Jewish charismatic spiritualist"
- Ken Scott Nateshvar, yogi to the stars
- and the pièce de résistance, Jean Houston, the Director of the Foundation for Mind Research.
Houston was described by some as a "New Age" author who "studied psychic experiences and mystical connections to historical figures and other worlds." When the story of the Houston connection became public Houston became known as hillary clinton's "Eleanor Roosevelt Conduit."
- Although she baked no cookies, didn't do illicit land or cattle deals and stood by no man, hillary clinton starred in the triple role of the Cook, the Thief and his Wife. Her lover was played at once vaporously and in workmanlike fashion by the ghost of Eleanor Roosevelt, with Janet Reno, between her stints rendering intermittent injustice for the Husband, as the reliable stand-in. Sidney Blumenthal was the stand-in for the Cook and Craig Livingstone the stand-in for the Thief. The last-minute addition of Christopher Hitchens as the snitch was a stroke of absolute genius notwithstanding its cerebral accident, its predictable-if-perfect pitch (or its facile alliteration).

There is a great emotional likeness there too. Thank you for putting the photos side by side. On Alinsky (http://www.vcn.bc.ca/citizens-handbook/rules.html) For Alinsky, organizing is the process of highlighting what is wrong and convincing people they can actually do something about it. The two are linked. If people feel they don't have the power to change a bad situation, they stop thinking about it. According to Alinsky, the organizer -- especially a paid organizer from outside -- must first overcome suspicion and establish credibility. Next the organizer must begin the task of agitating: rubbing resentments, fanning hostilities, and searching out controversy. This is necessary to get people to participate. An organizer has to attack apathy and disturb the prevailing patterns of complacent community life where people have simply come to accept a bad situation. Alinsky would say, "The first step in community organization is community disorganization."--beyond the sea

According to Jesse Jackson, blacks aren't represented enough so there needs to be "acting affirmative action." These two oscar winners might have something to say about that:
"When I was a kid the only way I saw movies was from the back seat of my family's car at the drive-in movie," Whitaker said. "It wasn't my reality to think I would be acting in movies, so receiving this honor tonight tells me it's possible. It is possible for a kid from east Texas, raised in south-central L.A. and Carson, who believes in his dreams, commits himself to them with his heart, to touch them and to have them happen."
Hudson won an Oscar for her first movie, playing a powerhouse vocalist who falls on hard times after she is booted from a 1960s girl group. The role came barely two years after she shot to celebrity as an "American Idol" finalist. "Oh my God, I have to just take this moment in. I cannot believe this. Look what God can do. I didn't think I was going to win," Hudson said through tears of joy. "If my grandmother was here to see me now. She was my biggest inspiration."
