A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day
Free Republic made its debut in September, 1996, and the forum was added in early 1997.   Over 100,000 people have registered for posting privileges on Free Republic, and the forum is read daily by tens of thousands of concerned citizens and patriots from all around the country and the world.
A Few of FR's Finest....Every Day was introduced on June 24, 2002. It's only a small room in JimRob's house where we can get to know one another a little better; salute and support our military and our leaders; pray for those in need; and congratulate those deserving. We strive to keep our threads entertaining, fun, and pleasing to look at, and often have guest writers contribute an essay, or a profile of another FReeper.
On Mondays please visit us to see photos of A FEW OF FR'S VETERANS AND ACTIVE MILITARY
If you have a suggestion, or an idea, or if there's a FReeper you would like to see featured, please drop one of us a note in FR mail.
We're having fun and hope you are!

So we're here to banish those doldrums and make you smile inside! Please feel free to post sweet graphics and/or little stories that make you feel all warm and fuzzy - or just come by and give us a smile. Only two more days 'til the weekend!

Cast Your Cares

READ: Philippians 4:4-9

Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. —1 Peter 5:7

The psalmist wrote, "Be still, and know that I am God" (46:10). Paul exhorted the Philippians to "be anxious for nothing" (Phil. 4:6). And Peter instructed his readers to cast all their cares on God (1 Peter 5:7).

How can someone stop worrying and be "still"? Only through prayer and trust in the loving God (Phil. 4:6-7). Those who cast their cares on Him can set aside the noise and confusion, ambitions and strivings, and enter into the peace of God (v.7).

This doesn’t mean that those who are "still" before the Lord will escape life’s dangers and dilemmas, but it does mean they will have the ability to live with tranquility in the midst of them. Though trouble may remain, the confusion, apprehension, and despair begin to fade away. Such people show poise under pressure; they’re unshaken by life’s alarms; they radiate peace wherever they go.

If you’ve never acquainted yourself with the depths of God’s love and His call for you to live in that love, your life will be filled with anxiety and cares. You’ll often be fretful and restless—always looking for that illusive "something more."

When you learn to turn your confidence toward God and cast your cares on Him, you can be calm in the midst of life’s demands.

I love to dwell upon the thought
That Jesus cares for me,
It matters not what life may bring—
He loves me tenderly.  —Adams

Because God cares for us, we can leave our cares with Him.

My favorite thing about being a member at the gym a few years back was using the sauna. Maybe I can talk the hubby into installing a home sauna (I wish). lol

I would make that the ALMOST last stop at the workout places. Would bathe/wash hair prior & put on a deep conditioner before going into sauna. The the last rinse off & dress & go..

Really was nice on hair

I would always put conditioner on my hair while in the steam room for an intense hair treatment. How was the sauna at the Grove Park Inn, pretty wonderful I'm sure.

Dear all,

Pippin is off line. She is locked out of FR at work, and her home 'puter is screeching.

From her description, it sounds like a hard drive problem.

She extends her regards to all her FRiends, and will be back as soon as she can. She asked that I post this so y'all wouldn't worry if you didn't see her for a while.

Best,

nully

Thanks :)

We have been preparing for deployment. My kids are having a super tough time with this one. I swear next time, I won't be telling him until the day before he goes. One of the wives was super smart, however, and is having a Body Shop (bath products) party the weekend after they leave. Good way to get us all together and our minds off it. She'll probably make a fortune, too LOL.

Thanks for posting the cute pic. I have no new ones of my doggies today.

We saw the USMC Silent Drill Team last night. They were so, so good. It was really very fascinating. Twelve years of active duty and this is the first time hubby or I have seen them.

Maybe you'll get the spring showers soon, we get heavy rainfall in March which raises the water tables underground that feeds our wells for the rest of the year.

Yep, Studley (note: I mis-spelled his name last week) came home from the hospital on Sunday morning. He's still having some problems but is improving daily. They discovered another parasite which can be controlled with meds, and his glucose levels have been bouncing around a bit. He gained an ounce between Sun and yesterday so he's now a strapping 1 lb 10 oz. As he matures, his health problems should become history. He's been a real fighter though all this.

Pictures? You betcha. This is another from two weeks ago with our two dogs, Bailey and Jack in the background...
