March 17, 2007: All DC War Memorials At Risk - Code Pink "Taking" The WWII Memorial
Code Pink ^ | Suzie Benjamin and Comrades

Posted on 02/28/2007 9:21:52 AM PST by tgslTakoma

From Code Pink's calendar for March 17th:

Saturday, March 17:
11:00 am - Join CODEPINK for a Women's Convergence for the March on the Pentagon

Join tens of thousands of people from around the country to march from the Mall to the Pentagon in a mass demonstration to demand: U.S. Out of Iraq Now! 2007 is the 40th anniversary of the historic 1967 anti-war march to the Pentagon during the Vietnam War.

Location: SW corner of 17th and Constitution NW, next to WWII Memorial and the Pond. We will join the March on the Pentagon Rally at 21st and Constitution at noon.

Code Pink is the marxist group whose "women's convergence" gathered at the US Navy Memorial on January 27, 2007 for a pre-rally rally with Jane Fonda as their star speaker. While at the Navy Memorial, Code Pink's "women" dressed the Lone Sailor statue in Code Pink garb:

So, it's not necessary for me to remind everybody reading this forum that it is very important that we have a huge turnout on our side so that all of our war memorials can be guarded by watchful eagles on March 17th.

Keep spreading the word among your friends and fellow patriots. We need everybody who can get to DC for March 17th to be there with us.

Note: I have cross-posted this message at both of the Gathering of Eagles forums and Free Republic.

Thanks for posting this. I feel like we're at the arcade game of "whack-a-mole-on-the-head-as-they-pop-up-all-over-the-place". Substitute "moonbat" for "mole" of course. But we'll keep whacking away wherever, whenever.

These are the same "authorities" who allowed anarchists to vandalize the Capitol Steps.

In our "politically correct" society, the police are handicapped.

This will not happen on my watch!!!

Has anyone posted the Michelle Malkin Peace, "The Gathering of Eagles", that is posted on NRO? It's a great article.

Ah, good old leftists. Still living in the 60s and wondering why they aren't on the forefront of America.

Nutcases with way too much time on their hands.

Would a lively riot help?

Where have you been the last several years? Do you remember the protesters being allowed to spray paint the Capitol steps a few weeks back? Do you remember some years ago when - I believe it was a Freeper - protected the flags and pennents at the Navy Memorial? A foam hat - no big deal? Sheesh! It's called desecration! And vandlism? And it's against the law!

Thanks for posting that picture (I think)...

I am SO disappointed that I won't be able to get to Washington in March..

I would LOVE to meet up with a Pinko lady and take her on myself.

Part of the reason I moved to the NYC area was to be able to do these things. My own busy life (as we all have) made me hem and haw a little, but Mr. hilaryrhymeswithrich made the hotel reservations and told me today let's make this happen, this is too important....

In college I interviewed a Vietnam Vet, Robert Skidmore, who open his heart to me as part of a class project...I have never forgotten what he went through at the hands of the left and hanoi Jane and I promised myself almost 20 years ago that I would take every opportunity to stand up for our veterans and active duty military.

What a total blessing to be given this opportunity....

So, we are bringing the kids and we will be there gladly and I am increasingly excited.

Thanks once again to my friends at FR who keep me (us) in the loop and provide the gentle remainders that it takes no great effort to bitch from the sideline.....

This is a unique opportunity to match and exceed the Left's numbers and I hope that many of us can put aside the distractions of life to send a message to the left, our troops overseas, the MSM and the President...

Not on our watch.....

I think a little lightning and rolling thunder would be appropriate to discourage the Pink beotches.

We're going to be there. I sure am looking forward to it. Our hotel is four blocks from Arlington Cemetery. Now I'm just looking around for the appropriate shirt to wear, something that says...in your face me! :-)

For the WR FReep it will show respect to our great military

I am so glad you will be there.

I envy you, but my heart will be with you all that day.

We Freepers that can't be there in person should have a LIVE thread that day, so we can be there in spirit.

Maybe we could get someone to call a person that would run the thread for updates on the scene.

I KNOW the MSM would show our people....just the Pinko Commies...so I hope we can work that out.

The authorities were probably watching whjile they put that pink hat on the statue in the first place.

Perhaps the problem is with the park police then?

BTTT

We're attending an American Legion meeting Monday so we'll get them more involved. There is a good number of WWII vets that may now take the arduous trip to their Memorial instead of leaving it to the younger, more able patriots.

but my heart will be with you all that day.

Thanks, I'll remember you when I'm there.

I was going to position my son at the WWII memorial, out of respect for my pop, may he rip, he fought in that as well as the Korean conflict.

If code pinks gonna be at that memorial, I'll be there instead of him. hehehe. I'll send him to the Korean war memorial.

I hope there's going to be a live thread. I'll have my camera with me so I can take a lot of pictures and post them when we get home.

I KNOW the MSM would show our people....just the Pinko Commies...so I hope we can work that out.

There's talk around the net about potential violence from the leftist.

Were you not aware of what this same group did to the steps of the US Capitol just recently?

As a matter of fact I was not aware.

It still seems that preventing vandalism is the task of the DC and park police, if they do a poor job, that is on them.

I certainly understand the emotional need to protect that which is considered sacred, and as I stated I support the effort. It just does not seem accurate that "All DC Memorials" are "at risk."

Looks like code pink has given up at Walter Reed. Friday, March 16 there is no mention of Walter Reed. Instead they are going to have "civil disobedience" at the White House.
