"Arizona Sen. John McCain: 164
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani: 162 "

Beats Rudy by 4? Must be the new math.

The bad weather led to a very low turnout. They had around 500 votes and were expecting 1500 to 2000.

IMHO, with little press, and little name recognition, Hunter did extremely well to have finished right in the thick of it with two of the candidates the press has been covering the most.

McCain's comeback in this was pretty phenomial and unexpected after he was significantly down with something like only ten percent of the precincts left to count.

I am anxious to see how Hunter fairs at CPAC.

Yes, very unexpected. I did not expect him to have quite so many friends this time around after what he did the last time he was through the Upstate.

Some pretty strange stuff at the end of the vote count.
Out of the last 100 votes, McCain apparently got 48 of them.
Here's a comparison of the votes as reported, earliest to latest:
                Fox:H&C AP1 AP2 CNN
                ------- ---- ---- ----
John McCain 64 86 116 164
Rudy Giuliani 108 123 158 162
Duncan Hunter 80 110 152 158
Sam Brownback 48 68 83 85
Mitt Romney 53 59 80 80
Newt Gingrich* -- -- -- 33
Mike Huckabee 14 18 21 21
Tom Tancredo -- -- -- 10
John Cox -- -- -- 4
Ron Paul -- -- -- 4
Condoleezza Rice* -- -- -- 2
Jim Gilmore -- -- -- 1
Tommy Thompson -- -- -- 1
Sanders -- -- -- 1
                ------- ---- ---- ----

It was reported he had 5 times more volunteers than the others working in the state the past several weeks.

"They had around 500 votes and were expecting 1500 to 2000."

I count 726 with a statistical three-way tie for first (each with 22 percent of the total).

Look at the chronology I just posted. I'd put it in the 'incredible' category. ;-)

I am anxious to see how Hunter fairs at CPAC.

CSPAN is supposed to air his speech at 5PM (8PM eastern)
I plan to watch.

McCain got 48 of the last 100 votes? this sounds like the Dems "motor voter" pushes at the end of the precinct reports, like they did to take the VA senate seat from Allen.

you have got to be kidding me.

I think all it does is show how irrevant a straw poll in one county among only certain types of voters is to the general election.

ROFL! That story gets exagerated more with every post!

Care to give a source on that one (HINT: You won't be able to!)
