(Vanity) Duncan Hunter logo wrong! - (APOSTROPHE BACKWARDS)

I haven't decided who I am supporting yet...but if you go to
gohunter08.com (link above)
...Hunter's website, you'll see that the apostrophe in his logo is backwards!!
It should (heaven forbid!) curl to the left to be correct.
Microsoft Word doesn't format apostrophes correctly unless they are in the middle of a word...but really, they're trying to say "20'08."
Because of this problem, most other campaigns are just using 2008.
I have a call into the campaign to warn them about this and about having more stuff printed up (bumper stickers, yard signs).
Just a heads-up! (This is what I get for having been an English major....)

Showing omission of letters
Apostrophes are used in contractions. A contraction is a word (or set of numbers) in which one or more letters (or numbers) have been omitted. The apostrophe shows this omission. Contractions are common in speaking and in informal writing. To use an apostrophe to create a contraction, place an apostrophe where the omitted letter(s) would go. Here are some examples:
don't = do not
I'm = I am
he'll = he will
who's = who is
shouldn't = should not
didn't = did not
could've= could have (NOT "could of"!)
'60 = 1960
'08 is perfectly fine for 2008.

I'm pointing out something that could be a national embarrassment for the campaign.
Nobody with adequate press staff would have let THE MAJOR LOGO slide!!!

While we're on this subject, I have two other questions for the punctuation police. Both relate to this passage from Hunter's website:
A large scale extension of the fence (700 miles long) was authorized in the 2006 bill Secure Fence Act of 2006. His efforts over some 20 plus years have brought the fence to be considered as a major instrument of immigration policy and border control.
[end quotation]
1) In the first sentence, is there any reason to put the name of the bill in quotation marks? I would use the quotation marks only if the reference were to the name instead of the bill. For example: The name "Secure Fence Act of 2006" was chosen to emphasize the fence's purpose.
2) Hyphens: I would hyphenate "large-scale" in the first sentence and "20-plus" in the second (although "efforts over some 20 plus years" would probably be better as simply "efforts for more than 20 years").
Now we need to find out where each candidate stands on the serial comma....

I don't think he looks like an idiot because of the apostrophe.
One other thought about quotations is that the quotation at the end of the sentence should include the final period. The example would be "2008 Fence Bill." If I'm wrong let me know. Thanks.

After giving myself time to ponder this detail of the English language of which you so kindly pointed out to us, I have come to the conclusion that the fact that the apostrophe faces left is a plot by the left wing nut job English professors to brainwash young skulls full of mush and therefor I will from hence forth make all my apostrophes face right and only write in run on sentences!

Gotta slip this in...no apostrophes for plurals. That is a particular pet peeve of mine. I don't see any violations on this thread, but I see that abomination all the time. ;-)

By the way, paulat, I wasn't belittling your post by using the phrase "punctuation police". I intended it as a jocular reference. As shown by the rest of my post, I think that questions like the ones you and healy61 have raised are worth thinking about, even if they aren't quite at the forefront of the public debate.
