FreeRepublic Policy Statement
FrreRepublic ^ | Unknown | Jim Robinson

Posted on 03/03/2007 5:38:03 PM PST by ZULU

"Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.

As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty. "

I've already stated that FR will probably become even more conservative than it already is, through attrition if nothing else. Besides continuing to champion the defense of America, FR just might become the "Conservative Conscience of the Republican Party," ie, we may become a real thorn in the side of moderate/liberal Republicanism. Someone has to try defend the party from completely tossing out traditional American conservatism. Might as well be us.

How many times must I say FR is a conservative site? We do not support abortionism, homosexualism, feminisim, environmentalism, gun control, liberalism, socialism, etc, etc, etc. When I say I suspect we will become even more conservative than we already are, possibly via attrition if nothing else, what do you think I'm referring to? When FR starts pushing hard and I mean hard against abortion, gay marriage, homosexual education forced on our school children, pandering to illegal aliens, gun control, McCaine-Feingold type usurpation, global warming, etc, etc, even if supported or advanced by the GOP, then I fully suspect certain types of moderate/liberal Republican supporters are probably going to be a little uncomfortable here. We will be fighting for traditional American conservatism no matter who we have to fight against and I'm afraid that's going to piss off some folks.

And I'll borrow a slogan used by the NFRA that I realy like:

"We are the 'Republican' Wing of the Republcan Party!"

Ah, don't listen to them. I think theres a bunch of democrats on here that are afraid of Rudy and they are bashing him, thats what it looks like to me anyhow...

Why would any good Republican Bash another Republican? Especially Rudy, a guy that has helped so many Conservative candidates in the last election.

Good question. Rudy has even LESS support at the recent CPAC convention than here!!!

Based on the last 3 FR polls--Guiliani's support at a conservative convention (which will include the real LEADERS of the conservative base of the GOP--the ones that raise the money, volunteer time, get out the vote, etc) was LESS THAN HERE!!

I guess it's no wonder that he was NOT EVEN INVITED to the Republican Convention in 1996!! Why would they invite someone THAT liberal?

This is supposed to be the place where I get the information to make up my own mind on the issue of who gets my vote for president.

You are correct. I'm wondering if this is a turning point at FR.

Last time I checked FreeRepublic is a fairly "big tent" website, and even GW Bush doesn't perfectly adhere to all the standards above.

Shouldn't we concentrate on defeating Hillary and maintaining the White House first, and less bickering amongst FReepers?

Hmmm...here's what I've picked up at FR today:
He has been consistently conservative on social policy and his help in getting John Roberts confirmed as Chief Justice to the Supreme Court was critical. Thompson has a record in the Senate and he voted conservative, according to the American Conservative Union, eighty-six percent of the time. From: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1794264/posts
and
Voted YES on maintaining ban on Military Base Abortions. (Jun 2000)
Voted YES on banning partial birth abortions. (Oct 1999)
Voted YES on banning human cloning. (Feb 1998)

Looking for more info. Where did you find that he is pro-choice?

Republicans like Rudy because he is willing to stand up and say; Lets kill the (Expletive Deleted, given what they did to Pookie18).

While I do not agree with him on most subjects, like that other former New York Mayor, he gets who the external enemy is.

To: ZULU; All

That is easy enough. He will continue the Bush doctrine. That is MOST important of all the issues.

If you can't get a candidate nominated with whom you will agree on everything at least Rudy will fill the bill as to the War on Terror. His speech at CPAC makes that clearer. He said the War came because THEY attacked us and will end when THEY stop attacking us.

That's an easy one. NO.

Liberal Republicans, like Rudy, are more dangerous than liberal democrats,,,,

because liberal Republicans BLUR THE DISTINCTION between liberalism and conservatism,,,

MAKING LIBERALISM MUCH MORE ACCEPTABLE!!

Just goes to show how much the mods allow from trolls like you.

Is this a Rudy bashing post?

It can be, if it turns out that way.

Why don't you spend your time bashing Hillary?

Oh, there's plenty of bandwidth for that, too.

You got a problem with either one of them being bashed?
