If James Cameron Were Honest About His "Discovery" (Jesus's tomb)

This week “Titanic” director James Cameron and Canadian television director, Simcha Jacobovici stood proudly at the New York City library to announce the release of a new book and documentary called “The Tomb of Jesus.” They claim to have uncovered the remains of Jesus and his family, including Mary Magdalene, (Jesus’ supposed wife) and their child, Judah.

If he were honest, this is what Mr. Cameron would have said to the press:

“My dearest friends in the media,

Thank you for being here. I must admit, I am pleasantly surprised so many of you have come. Our public relations company had quite the challenge to convince you our commercial projects were headline-worthy. After all, what we are peddling is pseudo-science based on old and discredited news. But we obviously hired the right company. They came through on their promise that you wouldn’t remember, or wouldn’t care, that when this tomb was discovered twenty seven years ago, the Jewish archeologist in charge of the investigation, Amos Kloner, determined it was not the tomb of Jesus and his family and that, in fact, it is unlikely Jesus and his relatives even had a family tomb. To think that not a single respected archeologist from the Holy Land region is willing to go on record that our claims are true, and still you are here with us today, is mind-boggling. How can we thank you enough?

Of course, you have used the establishment clause of the 1st amendment in the verbal sense..
In other words, you use "establishment" as a verb..

One can also take another tack..
Try reading it with "establishment" as a noun...

The interpretation becomes much broader and restrictive of congressional power...

That is why I think the Socialist are wanting to remove our Gold from public view.
Go deeper.
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

No Creator, no rights. Government then becomes "The Giver of Rights"...and also "The Taker".

Jesus's tomb is under the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Helena found it easily enough three hundred years after the crucifixion. Locals showed her where it was and said people prayed there all the time. Graffiti had been carved in the rock, 'Jesus, pray for me', etc.. It was well known. (This is what happens when something remarkable occurs, especially Christ rising from the dead. People have long memories.) Cameron and his ilk are cynical blaspheming vultures. Anything for a fast buck, especially at Easter or Christmas. Cameron's tomb is the same one where the fake ossuary was planted a few years ago. That forger is in jail.

Jesus Christ is very alive and doing very well. I talk to Him everyday and I'd be more than happy to introduce Mr. Cameron to Him.

Yes, the Soviets also renamed Petrograd to Leningrad. Petrograd was built by and named after Russian Tsar, Peter the Great.

When the Soviet regime collapsed, the people of Leningrad petitioned the new Russian Federation to rename their city to St. Petersburg, after the Apostle Peter.

The Russian Federation granted their request, whereupon the people of St. Petersburg converged upon the vast Nevsky Plaza for a celebration. They pulled down the huge 80' statue of Lenin in the center of the Plaza, smeared it with dog feces and urinated on it, smashed it to pieces with sledge hammers and jack hammers, and dumped the rubble into the bay.

So much for the love of Communsm.

Oh, the Russian word for Saturday is Sabat and for Sunday is Voskressnya, which means Resurrection. The Soviets were never able to change the names of those days, which point to the seven-day Creation and the Resurrection of Jesus.

Also, they were never able to change the number of days in a week, which point to the Creation.

OK, Congress can not make no law respecting 'Institutionalized Religion'. Something like that? IT still means the say, there can be no Government run Religion. Or one Religion of the United States. To me it means Congress must stay our of the Religion Business.

Should I be looking at establish as a noun or a verb? What is proper?

I'll keep tongue out of cheek and refrain from "proper noun" jokes..

Actually, nearly all legal opinions I have read refer to the verbal interpretation.. i.e., "establishing" a religion, or state church.. ( state, in this case meaning federal. )
This is also considered the historical basis for the amendment..

That Is the distinction I was trying to make..
The verbal interpretation simply restricts the federal government from "establishing" a national church or religion..
It is a somewhat limited prohibition..

Interpreting establishment as a noun is more broad, and all inclusive..
Such an interpretation basically prohibits congress from making ANY law concerning religion.. Period..

Present day legal opinions tend to use the noun interpretation as "implied".. ( maybe inherent in some cases )
But the interpretation as noun has been vague, and often inconsistent in application..

Thanks.

I see it as a verb. The State can not tell us to go to the First Glory Bound Baptist Church of America.

I guess I do feel that the State should not be in the Church Business.

Now, I also feel that the people make up the body of the State and the people make up the body of the Church. So, sometimes you can not keep the Church from being in the State's business. You can keep the State from the Church's business, but you can not keep the Church from the State's business.
