The Real Rudy
Newsweek ^ | 3/4/07 | Susannah Meadows, Mark Hosenball, Michael Isikoff, Eve Conant, Sarah Childress, Andrew Romano and Jo

Rudy Giuliani had been speaking for six minutes before anyone in the audience thought to clap, which was exactly the way he wanted it. Talking to a political crowd in North Spartanburg, S.C., last month, the former New York City mayor and 2008 presidential candidate was not there to excite but to warn; he was less interested in making political promises than he was in sketching out the perils we face. He spoke in the hushed tones of the day that marked him for history, September 11, 2001, his voice barely filling the somber setting—not a hotel ballroom or a church basement, but a firehouse, festooned with American flags.

'He's part of the vast right wing conspiracy'

If Rudy is part of the right wing I must be to the right of Attilla the Hun.

"Village Voice Interview with Guiliani: He was asked: "What kind of Republican Is [Giuliani]? A Reagan Republican?" Giuliani pauses before answering: "I'm a Republican." Village Voice January 24, 1989"

What kind of republican is rudy?

Why, one with an (R) by his name, of course.

Just like (R)nold and specter.

Interesting quote from the article. I agree 100% with it:

Richard Land, president of the Ethics and Religious Liberty Commission of the Southern Baptist Convention: "President Truman said he would never hire someone who cheated on his wife, because if a person breaks his marriage oath he could also break his oath of office."

Rudy, the mainstream media's new favorite republican.

One thing I can count on from the Washington Post is that the front page will either be full of nice stories about democrats, or bad stories about republicans.

This morning there was a neutral story about democrats and K-street, and a nice story about Rudy Gulliani.

Not sure yet if this is a change or not for the Post.

C'mon, don't you want to see an annual celebration of the Stonewall Rebellion Riots on the White House lawn? How fabulous would that be?

Actually, Hillary would be leery of being too anti-gun. She would look at elections past and her calculating mind would realize that it would cost future votes.

JulieAnnie would not care. He would consider his election proof that pro-gun voters are irrelevant.

Too bad Hunten Dunker can't get on some magazines he might even break 3%.

Funny how the Duncan Hunter cult won't tell us why their leader has NEVER sponsored a single bill that was eventually passed and signed into law.

All those years in Congress and NOTHING legislatively to show for it.

Duncan Hunter is all talk. No leadership.

I predict if Hillary is the nominee at some point we will see a photo-op of her on a hunting trip with Bill somewhere in Arkansas. Bill will be wearing body armor to protect himself from a friendly fire "accident".

"We're going to be in this war for quite some time," Giuliani concluded. "Not by our choosing, but by theirs."

Which is what the RATS don't seem to be able to grasp.

Funny how when asked for rudy's qualifications to be a great 'wartime president', beyond talking tough, kicking arafat out of a concert, or "taking on the mob", the rudybots oddly fall silent.

Is this the same Duncan Hunter who bounced $129,000 worth of checks to the House bank?

The MSM is having a hard row to hoe in redefining Rudy:

"As forever defined by 9/11." Buahahahahaaha!

Rudy is forever defined by his pandering ways instead of engaging in principled politics. But of course, this is the way of the Mayor, not the way of a President of the USA.

The MSM is trying to anoint Rudy, they will build him up, and when the presidential race starts with Rudy as the pubbie nominee, Newsweek will take out the knifes, and slice and dice Rudy as a crook, and a socially challenged cockatrice. Courtesy of National Review, here is Rudy's genuine image, presently under a barrage of MSM redefinition:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting And even better:

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting But of course, we do not see Newsweek publishing those photos.

I wonder why, don't you?

If Duncan Hunter is such a fiscal conservative, why did he write $129,000 worth of bad checks to the House bank?

I wasn't talking about duncan hunter. I was talking about rudy's actual qualifications to be a 'wartime president' and how his supporters avoid answering that question.

Which you were kind enough to demonstrate when you tried to change the subject to duncan hunter.

So what are his qualifications to be a great wartime leader, besides "taking on the mob", promising to kill OBL with his bare hands, or kicking arafat out of a concert?

Is it his law clerking skills? The ones that were so vital to the nation that he received a special exemption from the draft?

"Oh, oh, oh, hurry out and buy lots of copies! Golly, maybe next he'll make it onto the front page of The Nation or Rolling Stone! Praise the Lord!"

If he makes it onto the cover of rolling stone, will they give him an algore style "enhancement"???

Took down the east coast mob at personal risk.

Using conservative values turned NYCity from a crime ridden disaster into the most influential city in the world an amazing display of competence and executive ability.

Showed true leadership skills on 9/11.

Is a great debater he can actually articulate whats at stake now...something that most of our politicians seem to have a problem with.

He can beat hillary. So yeah...he's qualified.
