This is utterly amazing, how does a state legislature strip away ones constitutional rights?

We already know that as we cannot carry a gun legally anywhere at anytime for any reason. At least those states have some form of concealed carry allowance.

Here is the scarey part. Everything is controlled by Democrats here and this has more of a chance at passage than most people would at first think.

Interesting days ahead, maybe this can be the straw that breaks the Democrat camels back here finally waking people up to what it is they really are all about! I'm know, I know, I prolly dreaming about that.

THE RIGHT TO OWN GUNS IS A CIVIL RIGHT, WITHOUT WHICH ALL OTHER CIVIL RIGHTS ARE IMPOSSIBLE TO DEFEND.

THREE THINGS YOU MUST DO TO SAVE YOUR GUN RIGHTS

I'll settle for two.

  1. Lock
  2. Load

Please don't tell the deer. If the fury (delicious) varmin find out, our corn fed Hoosier deer population will start migrating to Illinois where it will be safer.

And I would also like to offer my home, as a new home for your guns, to any of you Illinois gun owners. I am just next door. You can come visit them any time you want.

Just call ahead.

If you were caught with an AR-15 and 4 magazines, you’d get life in prison.

Fer cryin' out loud. You don't get life in prison for murder, or rape, or child molestation, but own the *wrong* kind of gun and look out.

If passed, you would have 90 days to register your guns with the State Police or face arrest and felony prosecution.

Where does the legislation say that? All I can see is:

SYNOPSIS AS INTRODUCED:

New Act

Creates the Assault Weapons Ban Act of 2007. Contains only a short title provision.

				LRB095 04801 RLC 24861 b

A BILL FOR

		SB0016 LRB095 04801 RLC 24861 b

1 AN ACT concerning criminal law.

2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:

4 Section 1. Short title. This Act may be cited as the
5 Assault Weapons Ban Act of 2007.

It's not about guns, it's about control.
