I find it interesting that they use the word "baby" when talking about Ms Ruvolo's abortion. Doesn't this fly in the face of pro-choicers by using the word "baby"?
It's all a matter of womyn's health.

A young woman that I knew had an abortion in late 1984 in north Jersey. It might have been this place. She was given no anesthesia and was later told by an OB/Gyn that the scarring was so bad that she'd never have anymore children. She was recently blessed and has 2 little boys that she adores after 20 years of NEVER using birth control. But she still wakes up hearing her baby girl crying. I can't imagine that kind of pain and guilt.
In Fact the living fetus in my uterus was misdiagnosed as being dead. The living twin was stuck in my tube, and was missed.
Dr.Kotopolus who is an ob/gyn located in englewood, and is the Dr. I chose to see for prenatal care. In my insurance provider book he is not listed as an abortion facility. If you cannot understand I will explain this to you. An ectopic pregnancy is doomed. It lives until it bursts and dies. Ectopic Pregnancy is the #1 killer of women in their first trimester. The baby growing safely in my uterus would have been fine and would have lived. The diagnosed miscarriage was incorrect, and led to an unwanted procedure. Then they missed my twin baby that was ectopic,and was doomed, and life threatening to me. I have never had an abortion and would never have one. This clinic is dirty and it is poorly run. I hope no one has contracted diseases from their experience in this place.

By the way I am an American. I also have had an ectopic pregnancy before. I was well educated in the steps I needed to take for my own health and safety. I ended up in a horrific nightmare, and I am not to blame for it in anyway.

Gloria, I am so sorry that you lost both your babies, and I do understand that the one in the fallopian tube couldn't have survived and that pregnancy was a threat to your life, and that you didn't have to lose the one in your womb - that the mistreatment you received at the hands of Dr. Kotopolus cost that child's life.
So many women would never want to be touched by a doctor who does abortions but that is one kind of choice that the pro-choicers don't honor. Finding a good doctor is difficult and the insurance companies don't make it easy.
Does Kotopolus also have offices outside of the clinic?

The listing for Dr.K is under ob/gyn in the amerigroup provider manual which is available online also. The problem begins with this place being able to advertise as an ob/gyn. If it is an aborition place then it should be called one. I have a lot of work to do to make sure that these places can no longer fly under the radar, or hide behind pro-choicers anymore. It has allowed this kind of carelessness to run wild in these abortion facilities. They have gone unchecked for too long. All these groups who want to help women are really setting them up to be hurt or killed.
As stated in our private freepmail I meant you no malice ... I do indeed understand ectopic pregnancies and the dangers of such, what I couldn't understand was how your insurance company, Amerigroup, listed this "doctor" whose primary business is abortions as a ob/gyn ,, usually such doctors are bottom of the barrel types who wouldn't meet an insurance companies standards,, If indeed he has a history of malpractice I'd sue the insurance company also... I had speculated (incorrectly) that you were not an english speaker and had been directed to this facility in error or had been misled by the name of the practice which is a generic medical sounding name ,,, I also speculated (correctly) that this was a first visit and that this was not your regular ob/gyn ... I also speculated (correctly) that pain from the ectopic pregnancy had lead you to seek medical care...
I'm in your corner ... now calm down (you're among friends here) and attack that "doctor" (in court).
