In small Inuit communities, hunters kill bears that wander too close to human settlements and, in this particular region, they are licensed to kill six polar bears a year. Polar bear experts said that numbers had increased not because of climate change but due to the efforts of conservationists.Conservationists -YES!
Environmentalists - NO!

I believe I read that the world was warmer than today at the time of Augustus Caesar...and the polar bear made it through that time, too...
Environmentalists seem to want to freeze time to ca. 1970 or some ideal time of their imagining. But the world is dynamic.
Conservationists, though, understand this.

I've always called myself a "Conservationist", DEFINITELY NOT an "Environmentalist".
I have no trouble with scrupulous use and exploitation of our natural resources. I also accept that God's creation exists in a dynamic balance, and is not static. I have no desire at all to maintain it exactly as it was last year, or fifty years ago, etc.
Somehow, I HOPE we are able to alleviate the effects of the Ice Age that is inexorably approaching us... but I've little expectation that we can completely counter them. That cooling is much more threatening to civilization than a few degrees warming could ever be.
