Congratulations, Jenna Bush. You, too, have joined the PC crowd. Wow, your parents really taught you well...

Jenna's point was well made. The same people who read Ann Frank may very well read this book.
There is no indication at all that Jenna was comparing the plight of the two girls.
These Bush girls have done more public service since graduating college than a good many of the holier than thou posters on FR.
She sees stupid government conspiracies all the time with he favorite being that Bush is covering up dozens of terrorists attacks and attempts.
18 venomous reply posts, including yours, and nobody bothers recognizing the fact that they are reacting to the words of the article author, not Jenna Bush's.
Author - "And Bush has the audacity to tell USA Today that she envisions her teen-single-mother-with-AIDS book as having the same influence as Anne Frank's The Diary of Anne Frank. "
Jenna Bush - "...hopes her book will have some of the influence of two books about girls caught up in the Holocaust: Lois Lowry's novel Number the Stars and Anne Frank's The Diary of Anne Frank."
There is a world of difference between "the same", a bold objective and "some", a modest objective.
I guess in the quest to belittle someone, details don't matter.
And that is relevant how?
If she's gonna promote a book based on the sole fact that her dad is president then anything she says about the book or that is in the book is fair game. And I never thought I'd say this, but this gives me new respect for Chelsea, who is not as trashy as this woman. Haven't ever seen any drunken or underwear changing pix of her. And she didn't write a book like that and compare herself to Anne Frank. This Bush twin is a total ditz and a piece of garbage. And to think her mother was a librarian.
REally? I read her site regularly. She's never said that. I guess anyone can make up anything to attack someone on FR. Too bad.
A little over the top. Also thats not Ms. Bush in that photo on the beach.
It is completely possible this is a morality tale designed to help girls make a better life for themselves through better choices. A point that seems to be completely glossed over here.
I wish I completely understood what was happening to "real conservatives" these days.
Actually it is. I looked it up on google and there are a whole group of images of her changing her underwear in public on the beach. it's her. real classy broad.
not sure what that means. do you know English? apparently, not. that's her pic. pointing that out doesn't mean i'm like a cat.
Absolutely ludicrous and out of bounds. By Schlussel, I mean.
Bush compared the effect of her book to that of The Diary of Anne Frank. That's optimistic and maybe a little crazy, but it doesn't follow at all that she compares herself to Anne Frank.
To me she has been gone long ago. Many times she wildly exaggerates, just to chum to waters and generate red meat. She thinks her readers are mindless Pavlovian dogs...
Jenna said she hopes her BOOK has the same influence as did the BOOK written by Anne Frank.
Wow, talk about a totally deranged interpretation and overreaction.
Sadly Jenna, it appears BDS applies to all members of your family. Good luck in your first foray into documentary writing. And too bad the press will dig up your teenage partying photos and use them in every story about you until the day you die. Longer even.
My personal favorite is the high school student who left a part of his science project (he and his family were returning from a competition) on a Northwest Airlines flight and it triggered a bomb scare. Schlussel went on for ages that it was really an attempted bombing by Islamists.
My suggestion would be to read primary source material and get all the facts before jumping to conclusions. You may not have the whole story.
And are you serious that you haven't seen any compromising pictures of Chelsea Clinton? You must not stand in grocery store checkout lines very often.
Having said that, you are entirely within your rights to believe the Bush girls are "garbage" and that Chelsea Clinton is a paragon of virtue. You may even be right.
But somehow, my bet is that all three are fairly typical girls of their generation. A generation defined by mixed messages and confusing signals about what it means to fit into society. And my suspicion is that trying to find your way through your twenties under the glaring spotlight of a "gotcha" press eager to embarrass your daddy and mommy is not an easy thing to face.
Actually its not, it was already discounted on Freerepublic some time ago.
Debbie Schlussel is the Jewish Ann Coulter.
