NAIROBI: The Kenyan police have arrested a man they believe to be a key Al Qaeda suspect who tried to shoot down an Israeli airliner and helped plan the simultaneous bombing of a hotel in 2002 that killed 15 people, officials said.
The man's identity was not immediately confirmed, but investigators said they believe he is Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan, a senior official in Kenya's security services told The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because the matter was classified.
Nabhan is wanted for questioning by the FBI and the Kenyan police for the 2002 attacks and the 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, which killed more than 200 people. Nabhan fled to Somalia after the attacks near Mombasa

Unrelated to this post I met some wonderfal Kenyan Orthodox while in Kenya with my family in February. You should hear them sing a Znamenny chant! They were so kind to us because I acted as translator for them with an Arab Orthodox group of workers from Palestine. They didn't speak Arabic and the Arab Orthodox did not speak any European language. They had managed some Swahili, but anyway most Excellent people of Christ!
I sit next to a young Kenyan couple most Sundays in church myself. They tell me that about half of their tribe is Christian.
They and all their relatives speak perfect English.
That warning was put out TWO DAYS after this gentleman was caught...
I'm glad have experienced them too. Excellent English and I have found many of the men treated me with what my grandmother would have called "courtly" manners.

The Kenyan and Iraqi in the same day or couple of days is huge. We used to get busts like this every 3-4 months. Since that guy in Pakistan went down we seem to be bagging them without limit.

ok, I give up..why in the world do these captured guys look like 18-35 middle eastern males of the muslim religion instead of the amish and 85 year old blue hairs in wheelchairs and using oxygen tanks I constantly see being wanded at airports?? (while the middle eastern males walk thru because of the fear of profiling lawsuits??)
