Did anyone see this good priest challenge Sean Hannity on his show Friday night (re: Sean's claim that it's better to use birth control than have abortion). Fr Euteneuer said he'd prefer neither, that teaching self-control was the answer.
Sean was clearly affected by this and came out swinging saying things like "judge not lest ye be judged" etc. and making a fool of himself saying "don't you know I went to a SEMINARY???" As if THAT makes him a scholar on Catholic theology - a topic it seems he knows nothing about.
To: Caravaggio
Sean came off looking very bad (like Alan) because he would not let the Father speak at all.
I don't understand why Sean invited him on if he was going to be so defensive.

Sean Hannity does not know the Catholic faith. He was schooled during the age of the Catechesis of Glitter.

I think Hannity still is a admirable role model for Catholics as well as people of faith. Perfect? Clearly not, but as a non-Catholic I realize that he is trying and I don't have any reason to believe that he is speaking for the Pontiff or the US Council on any matters.
Of all of the fights to have, I don't see this as being one of the useful ones. John Kerry and Ted Kennedy are still out there claiming to be Catholics. I think they certainly deserve more of our opprobrium

Apparently Sean's more concerned about two bites of Chicken than his very public support for candidate who supports abortion.

Yeh, but he's a good American. /sarcasm
I stopped listening to his show a long time ago.
To: Robert Lomax
Yeah, I stopped listening to him as well. I still listen to Rush though.

I watched that show. Hannity lost it! He was so rude to the Father. I suspect that the Father is unhappy that Sean Vanity is trying to deceive pro-lifers into voting for partial birth abortion supporter, Guiliani. Sean Vanity's false face mask came off tonight on the show.

Agreed. I thought Sean came off pretty badly in the segment.
The priest was right. If someone claims to be a Catholic, they have an obligation to follow the faith. And, in regards to Sean's repeated use of the sinner's most oft-used defense, "judge not lest you be judged." Maybe he should read the Bible.
How in the world are believers supposed to keep the church pure of heresy if they cannot judge anyone at any time for any reason whatsoever?
To: Caravaggio
I know how how shocked Sean must feel. I gave up chocolate for Lent when I was twelve. I made it almost all the way through before my brother pointed out that we were Baptists. Shocked and stunned, that's what I was.

Sean sure did lose it. I just wished he would have SHUT UP and let Father TALK at some point. But every time Father made a point, he'd chime in with some useless non-sequitur about the Church sex scandal, or "judge not lest ye be judged". (Somehow I don't remember him criticizing the priests and bishops who said they would deny Kerry and Pelosi Communion. He was all for this. But hey, isn't this JUDGING??)
Father had so many good points to make but Sean was so filled with pride he wouldn't let him get a word in edgewise.
To: GinaLolaB
Father said he would deny Sean communion at his Mass.
That was a pretty powerful TV moment.
Personally, I like sporadically watching Hannity on TV, but his radio show is really boring. Tonight he really looked like a chump, sounded exactly like a cornered liberal and lost a great deal of respect from me.

I can stand listening to him on his show, because he's the only one speaking. On H&C, however, he's terrible. He just won't shut up and let anyone else express a thought.
To: Caravaggio
Sean Vanity is a CINO. Poorly catechized as a child and he has done little to improve on that deficient education. Little does he realize, and neither did his colleague Bill Bennett, that Catholics are required to abstain from eating meat on all Friday's throughout the year; unless a solemnity falls on a Friday, not just the Friday's of lent.
To: Caravaggio
But every time Father made a point, he'd chime in with some useless non-sequitur about the Church sex scandal I could not believe the way Sean savaged the priest about the sex scandals. In other words Sean, and people like him, are trying to tell priests that they cannot speak on any issue ever because of the sex scandal. That is what the media wanted to do; they want to shut the Catholic Church up about every issue.

"I stopped listening to his show a long time ago."
So have I. I find him preachy, overbearing and very much enthralled with himself. Success went to his head right after he had his own radio program. Who gives a shit anyway that the turkey ate a chicken sandwich? I hope it gave him the runs.

As Mass ended, right before the last election, our priest made a remark to support the guy to was pro choice and to "dump Doolittle" our pro life congressman from Placer County in California. Why would he do that if abortion is an afront to our Lord?
Another Question: Why do the bishops and priests support illegals breaking our laws by coming illegally into our country. I thought the Catholic Church taught that we are to obey the law.

If apologies are the order of the day, then the repentance I would like to hear out of Sean Hannity's mouth is for his shamelesseven scandalouspromotion of birth control. Yes, I have heard him personally say, "I have no problem with birth control. It's a good thing." Pro-Life bump
