Your right, but what was the church? Nowhere does it give a demonation, that's because he was talking about the people, belivers! ALL believers, not just any given demonation.
Since peter was recognized as the first pope and the protestants didn't leave MY church that Christ mentioned until much much later wouldn't you agree that the Protestants left and it wasn't the catholic Church that left the church since todays pope is a direct descendant of Christs apostle>
