Gen. Peter Pace, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said Monday that he supports the Pentagon's "don't ask, don't tell" ban on gays serving in the military because homosexuality is "immoral" and on par with having an extramarital affair.
Addressing the controversial policy as part of a wide-ranging interview with the Tribune in Chicago, Pace said the military should not "condone" immoral behavior by allowing gay soldiers to serve openly. He said his views were based on his "upbringing," in which certain types of conduct were thought to be immoral.
"I believe homosexual acts between two individuals are immoral and that we should not condone immoral acts...," Pace said, while also calling it immoral for military members to commit adultery with another service member's spouse. "I do not believe the United States is well served by a policy that says it is okay to be immoral in anyway.
In the interview, Pace also said that a provision in the House Democrats' proposal to wind down the war could hamper President Bush's planned troop "surge" in Iraq by creating gaps in troop levels.

Nice to see straight talk from a general.
Well, I predict that he'll be replaced or retired by this time next week.
Barney Frank, please pick up the pink courtesy phone...
Uh oh. Somebody is gonna be resigning soon.
Let's keep Pace.

Welp, he's done. LOL
whoa, the macacca is going to hit the fan now. But you know, it's about time conservatives stood up and said it like it was. Now if the rinos get a spine and back him Pace, things might improve.
Gen. Pace is on Hitlery's list now, for sure.
Those soldiers from Sparta sure were wusses, now that I think about it.
Anyway, why would anyone want to defend anal sex?
It's always seemed dumb to me to put a flagpole in the middle of a foxhole, anyway.
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!
Hip Hip Hooray!
God bless you, Peter Pace.
Oh boy. That sound you hear is the spineless Pubbies running for cover. Unfortunately, the General will be fighting another war shortly, a fight for his career.
Schumer will call for him to resign tommorrow.
BTW: Did you see the headline on ABC.com? "Was Rove behind the firing of the 8 AGs". LOL
ABCCBSNBCCNN suck, all of them.

OMG!!! Quick, somebody put him in rehab!

Thats the General in the front.
Can you get promoted any higher than Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff?
He should ask what the MSM never will: since homos are almost universally liberal, and we all know liberals almost universally hate the military and will not serve, just why are homos so eager to get into the military?
Paging John Edwards.
[...just why are homos so eager to get into the military?...]
The wardrobe?
Ruh roh...
I do believe the General was raised a "good Catholic". Ask a silly question - get a straight answer!
Tell It To The Marines!!
- Winston Churchill addressing the Sea Lords, 1912
He didn't say they couldn't fight, he said it was immoral.
OOH RAH!
The Commander in Chief
"OMG!!! Quick, somebody put him in rehab!"
Good thing he didnt use the word faggot.
This good man has nothing to lose & is probably retiring soon anyway.
We need so much more of this.
Quoting Ewards...."Oh my gosh the foothold of hate has invaded the military ranks"
Gay people have served in the armed forces since day one, what they want is to be open about it. This would undermine moral, send the wrong message to our enemies and oppose the prevailing military culture. Don't ask, don't tell is the only policy that allows soldiers to keep their private lives and serve their country if that is their wish.
Well, They asked and he told! Pace is one of Bush's best appointments yet.
Good for this General.
Homosexuality is a sick, twisted perversion on the same level as abortion and cannabilism.
Only a society as moral compromised by political corrrectness as ours could possible condone the kind of perversive behavior we "protect" here.
Well, that's good to hear. Clarifies things!
If it's not permissible to indirectly say that Edwards is a little faggot, then won't the libs be forced to call for Pace's resignation? I mean, he suggesting that it's immoral to even tolerate homosexual acts. That's a Major Violation of the liberal code.
"Well, that's good to hear. Clarifies things!"
IMO the reason Gays make such a big issue about the military is that they aren't allowed to be there. It sure isn't about the money we pay our troops. Their goal is to tear down the wall no matter the cost.
Defense of our country is bigger than any 1 person. The gay activist cares more for themselves than for the country. None of us is obligated a slot to serve our country, its a privilege.
They are almost by definition all liberals, and liberals for the most part do not want to serve out of a sense of duty and patriotism. Maybe in the past, but certainly not now.
I think it is the desire to have many targets of opportunity, so to speak.
As the good General pointed out, there are lots of heterosexual activities that are immoral also.
Unfortunately, heterosexuals like them.
That's why the homosexual agenda is so popular. If we start saying we should care about morality, it's going to impact a lot more people than the homosexuals.
Shalom.
According to Edward Gibbon, "The History of The Decline
and Fall of the Roman Empire", the Roman Empire succumbed
to barbarian invasions because of a loss of civic virtue
among its citizens. They had become lazy and soft,
outsourcing their duties to defend their Empire to barbarian
mercenaries, who then became so numerous and ingrained
that they were able to take over the Empire. Romans, he
believed, had become EFFEMINATE, unwilling to live a
tougher, "manly" military lifestyle.

in my, and many others, opinion, it is that but far more as well. The military requires strict discipline, in fact in times of war or any military action, your life depends on it, as does the rest of the "units". Being homosexual is about self, not about conforming to what is best for the military. It is the anti-discipline.
Are you sure you want to go there?
Tell me one religion that calls homosexuality a perversion that does not also lable pre-marital sex the same.
I'm not saying you're wrong, just that there's a huge can of worms that's been open for a long time. Homosexual behavior is only one of those worms.
Shalom.
Oh, YEAH!
I believe that is a strong oversimplification. Most homosexuals aren't making a decision like choosing hamburgers or chicken for dinner. Most are homosexual as the result of a traumatic event, generally being sexually molested, at a young age. Except for the problems exhibited by their homosexuality their thought processes are very similar to yours and mine. That is, they are as likely to be able to discipline themselves as heterosexuals are.
The larger issue is that they are not, in fact, homosexual. They have a sexual attraction to their own gender that is counter to reality. It is a delusion. The issue is just how bad the delusion is for the military, and how important it is to attempt to correct it.
Put another way, having a homosexual in your unit is no more nor less difficult than having a man who thinks he is a walnut. If the walnut is brave and a good shot, you might rather not correct the problem. It reminds me of an old joke.
"How are things at home?"
"Not too good. My uncle is crazy."
"Crazy? What's wrong?"
"He thinks he's a chicken."
"Well, have you taken him to a psychiatrist?"
"No, we can't do that."
"Why not?"
"We need the eggs."
Shalom.
I wish the liberals would be dumb enough to demand Pace's resignation.
They may get support from the MSM, but the larger American public will bitch-slap them.
He is right.
Well, the general did say he thought it was on a par with extramarital sex. I guess he'd be in favor of kicking out soldiers who had extramarital sex.
