I was surprised and disappointed yesterday when Fox's Shepard Smith let commentator Bob Beckel walk all over him regarding the non-story of Bush firing several US Attorneys. Shepard asked Beckel why there was any story here when Clinton fired all 93 US Attorneys his first week in office. Beckel responded with the same, tired, dishonest Dem talking points, ignoring Smith's question and instead talking on and on about the Evil Bush Administration, a mystical connection between the firings and Iraq, Karl Rove's alleged involvement, etc., etc.
If you are going to pretend to be a news organization you have to be able to ask a question and demand a response. It is my observation that in the past several years Fox has stopped being a news organization and instead has become a slightly to the right version of "The View." I cannot decide if this is by design in a search for wider viewership or simply the result of carelessness and poor production.
I don't know... sometimes you have to tlet the liberals speak and show how stupid they are.
He should have followed up again, though, by asking the exact same question- just to embarrass him.
i sometimes think getting questioned by smith is like getting mauled by a dead sheep...
Shep Smith also is a big fan of global warming.
He jumped the shark in New Orleans during Katrina.
He needs to go from Fox. His contribution to journalism is "Skinnerville".
Shep Smith is a lib.
It's not just Smith. Beckel sat there and said no one ever protested when Clinton was in office and Hannity didn't say a word.
I never expect much of anything from Shepard Smith. I have Fox on most of the time, but actually change channels when he comes on.
Neither Shep Smith nor Bob Beckel is significant. Nothing they say is significant. They are strictly there for argumentative entertainment.
I'd give him less than 3 months more on this job and then it's retirement. Guy won't even make it to the next Democratic national convention with anything more than the ability to sit there looking numbly at the tv screen wondering what happened to FDR.
Shepard Smith would agree with anything that Beckel had to say, so why would he try to challenge him?
...and a faggot.
I never expect much of anything from Shepard Smith. I have Fox on most of the time, but actually change channels when he comes on.
Funny, that is the same thing I do. It's so easy, once you get use to it.
.
Sheepherd Smith should be working for CNN.
Smith was hearing what he wanted to hear. He set the table for Beckel while appearing to ask him a tough question.
The media libs do it all the time.
>>>Sheepherd Smith should be working for CNN.
no, Shep should be at MSNBC...as Ol'Beerman's towel boy, or Imus' gal-Friday.
Shep is a lightweight (as journalists/commentators go). He out to be reassigned to fluff news. I think he enjoys hearing his own voice more than anything else.
I get my news from FR
Any man that wears mascara is not credible. They are to be laughed at like a side show spectacle.
He also jumped the ship when he was in Lebanon covering the Israeli's.
BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Shep is certainly no Brit Hume. Shepherd Smith is the reason the remote control was invented.
Someone here at FR called him a drama queen. That is how I now refer to him and my wife chuckles whenever I say it. Most of the time now - from 1800 to 2000 - I fire up the PC and listen to Mark Levin. I'm a stalker! Thank me!
Same here.... and when Geraldo, "The Fake", comes on.
I also heard he is the "f" word... wouldn't want to go into rehab! ;-) He is a leftist.
LLS

And we can not forget that Shep Smith was held spell bound by the Anna Nicole court proceedings in Florida, and could not wait to see more of the circus court proceedings.
It's hard to listen to a guy that sounds like the kids I used to stuff into lockers in junior high. But he makes some good points.
My Grandfather (a Vet from WWII in New Guinea) said never trust a man that blow dries his hair (I suppose something to do with being vane or vanity)
Sheepherd Smith, or Sheeple Smith. I actually think Sheep looks more like a Bunny caught in the headlights.
I think most men today blow dry their hair, if they have any hair left. However if the same said man is getting a perm, and has a stylist then we are in trouble.
(Smith lets Beckel walk all over him)
thats not really a hard task to do to Shep

Shep Smith was arrested in 2001 after an altercation with another journalist over a parking place. Allegedly, a female journalist was saving a parking spot for someone and Smith backed into her car and yelled an obscenity to a group of bystanders. All charges against him were later dropped
His level of coherence, or lack thereof, is directly related to the length of the Happy Hour at the Hawk and Dove (Kennedy's favorite Saloon BTW).
Smith is an intellectual lightweight. He is eye-candy for the women.
The only time I leave his program on is when someone is covering for him. I CAN'T STAND his 'drama' stuff! As far as Beckel is concerned, I'm not surprised. I AM suprised that Hannity would let Beckel get off. Hannity is usually a pit bull.
Did I read somewhere - a long time ago -- that Smith had the blessings of Brit Hume?
LOL!
Shepard Smith is a DEMOCRAT. And he is also one of the worst reporters ever. His Katrina coverage was completely ridiculous and out of control.
I would hate to be forced back to MSNBC.
And two of their gals have turned into pit bulls. I won't mention their names, but since they have their own show, they are no longer sweet pretty gals. But mean, fist pounding pit bulls!
I have to turn the channel every time I see Beckel's face. Frankly, I don't know how he can show his face in public after he hired a prostitute to come to his house for massages and sex, and only came clean when the woman and her boyfriend threatened to tell his then wife and the media about it unless he paid them. What a dope.
Maybe he's back to getting sex and massages from prostitutes. Either that or he contracted syphilis from one of his liaisons a while back and its turned his brain into an even bigger pile if mush.
I can't stand Shepherd Smith. When he goes into his disc jocket mode - I'm gone for good.
I also can't stand the women Fox has on in the morning - where do they find these ignorant people? You'd have to make a point to go out and look for that kind of stupidity.
I try to never miss Brit Hume - but that's it. I don't like any of the other Fox shows - ok except - Chris Wallace on the weekends - if I happen to turn it on.
I get my news from various sources - sometimes CNN Headline News for just basic stuff like - who killed who overnight - or the size of the latest earthquake.
Rush - I try to never miss. I have him on as I go about my morning - walking - or at my craft table - or chores.
Rodger Hedgecock is good for local stuff - San Diego is his home base - so I get local stuff from him. He's on from 3-6.
Otherwise its the local newspaper (ugh), this board, U.S.News and World Report for "filler" - some National Review articles and Conservative Commentary.
It surprises me how much Rush actually keeps me up with the news. I hear stuff from him that is reported no where else. Or is reported much later. Having heard it from him gives me the ability to recognize the filters on both sides.
What do you expect from someone who performs buggery, he is not fair or balanced. Why is he even on staff?
Shep is a liberal, what can I say? He is just posing as devil's advocate to allow Beckel to get the Democrat talking points out in the open.
To me, FoxNews is not fair or balanced. Only less liberal that any of its competitors.
Same here.....can't stand them. I refuse to watch them, even at the cost of missing some of the news.
Fox would do well by dumping Shepard and his hero, Geraldo.
There are others that should also go, but these clowns are at the top of my list.
"I think most men today blow dry their hair......"
Not this guy. I can't imagine why I would ever want to do that. Guess I'm not normal. ;)
Yep, Shep is kissing up hard to the left. Maybe he’s hoping for a job at MSNBC. he’d fit right in.
