Washington - March 13 --U.S. lawmakers say a comprehensive immigration reform plan that includes a guest worker program is almost ready to be introduced. The plan, which is being prepared by Sens. Edward Kennedy, D-Mass., and John McCain, R-Ariz., with Reps. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., and Luis Gutierrez, D-Ill., is aimed at passing comparable bills in both houses of Congress. The plan includes a guest-worker program and a program allowing some 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States to earn citizenship

Lemme guess: guestworkers, amnesty and NO control of the border.
'Cept its gonna pass the House and the Senate this time AND el Presidente Jorge Arbusto will sign it.
I can't believe I voted for him..twice.
....and the "true conservatives" stayed home to teach us lesson.
I voted a straight R ticket this election.
But if 20 R's and the President back this travesty, I WILL sit home next time to teach the GOP a lesson. Whether you like it or not.
Bush told the Guatemalans the bill could be fast tracked for passage by August.
Think it will happen?
Change the record. It's scratched.
No, they didn't.
The "moderates" and "independents" simply felt that if Congress was going to behave and govern like Democrats, they might well have Democrat majorities.
" . . . . to earn citizenship."
Why should we assume that any significant number of those 12 million alien invaders desire U. S. citizenship? They're doing just fine without it; bank accounts, credit cards, SS accounts, home mortgage loans, in-state U.S. citizen college tuition rates, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.
Anyone heard if the brick guys are gearing up for another round?
This will be the last nail in the coffin of McCain's presidential aspirations. Thank goodness.
This is smoke mirrors and b.s. and anyone not understanding that is just plain stupid.
Round the illegals up and deport them ALL. Put up a wall and put the military on the border to protect our country.
I remember when Mexicans lived in mexico, oh wait they still do, the border has been moved north and mexico now extends into what used to be the USA.
Mexicans now work at jobs actual American citizens used to work, wow remember the good ole days ??
And now the illegals have friends in high places like the aclu the dems and......never mind.
" . . . . to earn citizenship."
Citizenship? That's becoming a serious drawback these days, maybe they should rethink that a bit.
There is NO DETERENT! It will never end ,its a free for all
The libs want to increase thier voting base and will use thier wealth redistribution plan and free college education (now in california but coming to a state near you)to attract more and more illegals, the Rebulicans want cheap labor. When are we going to wake up? close the border, put the national guard there, we have a right to protect or country!
If they can work in the US, there's no reason why we can't buy up all their prime coastal real estate. All 5,000 miles of it.
That's just amnesty for the first 20 million, RodgerD. Since the borders are to be left open, the NEXT 20 million should cross the Rio Grande in ten years or less.
Wouldn't it be nice if Bush fast tracked enforcing our current borders and immigration laws?
As soon as Bush signs this, the Republicans will be heading for another 40 years in the wilderness.
Bush will be "alienating" the base Republican voters and importing 20 million Dem voters, and he can't wait to do it!
How stupid can a man and a political party be?
More likely 20 million Mexicans, all but a few to be Dem voters.
Bush is the Dem's best friend and Repub's worst enemy.
I guarantee you this: more of us true conservatives voted than get credit...and more illegals and corpses voted than SHOULD have gotten credit.
"Bush told the Guatemalans the bill could be fast tracked for passage by August.
Think it will happen?"
Not a chance. No politician will risk alienating any segment of the population this close to election.
It could be worse.. instead of hardworking, family oriented mexicans who could assimilate, we could be inundated with Muslims who want to impose Sharia, kinda like they're doing now in England and France
You think the GOP bit it in 06? They help pass this crap and they go the way of the Whigs.
They all want a north America confederation. One big market and one labor base.
Compete better with the euros and chineese.
