Persians (Iranians) are losers and don't like to have it publicized.

Although the damage has been done, but Warner Brothers and Mr. Snyder must be courageous enough to withdraw the movie from the market impromptu, rectify the malicious misinformation and misrepresentation that have constituted the very inches of the movie, and apologize to the Iranian communities all over the world.

This comment seems to have been censored. The omitted portion is most likely:
Or peaceful Muslims will blow up your studios and cut off Mr. Snyder's head.

I grant you that the OLD Persia and its people contributed greatly to the world. The Shah continued that legacy and up until his death Iran was among the richest and most powerful nations. That all changed with your religious zealots coming to power.

Presently, however, your country of Iran, Persia whatever you wish to call it...is disgraceful in what it stands for and what it has done for its people.

I think the movie is great...and should be shown in your country...

Well, they sacked Jerusalem and stole the True Cross. Of course Emperor Heraclitus then organized an expedition into the heart of their empire, thrashed them, and recoved the Cross.

Maybe if the Mullahs were reminded of the fact that the 'prophet' spoke in approving terms of the Christian Emperor's victory over the Persians, they wouldn't be so touchy about over-the-top depictions of fights between two packs of pagans just because one lot happened to hail from the same parts as they do.

"Come to think of it, the Persians must have been real wussies on the battlefield. Did they ever have any notable wins against the west?"

Yup--they conquered Babylon, which was west of them.

The also conquered part of India, Lydia, and Egypt.

They took over Asia Minor on their way to Greece.

That's all I remember.

Those people don't need much to get mad. Watch them use this as an excuse for violence, just like the riots and murder over the Pope's words and some stupid cartoons.
Also watch for the US leftist media to condemn this movie.

It seems ironic that Iranians can be absolutely certain of a battle which took place 2,300 years ago, but are confused about the holocaust which took place 65 years ago.

I haven't seen it yet, but the word on FR is that it is good. Check it out here.

I got my new tagline from the clip.

I know. They haven't been "Persian" since sometime around 632 A.D.

Oh, it was "Herodotus who fictitiously claimed and distorted the history and reported that the 300 Spartans stopped the Persian Army for 3 days!" So, the author has historical bones to pick with even the 1962 20th Century Fox production of "Te 300 Spartans". He wants us to doubt that 300 fiercely motivated professional soldiers could hold off a Persian army of hundreds of thousands for more than 3 days. Would he also have us believe that those three days did not give the Athenians the time to assemble a fleet and deploy it, and subsequently defeat Xerxes navy at Salamis? And would he have us doubt the final and decisive victory by the Spartan led Greeks over the remaining Persians under Mardonius at Plataea? Distortion of facts indeed!

As the Persians were not Muslims at this period of time. And Muslims consider anybody that is not a Muslim to be an infidel, I find their outrage a little confusing?

Quite so. It was Islam that finally dealt the death blow to Persian culture. It's true that the Persians created a magnificent civilization, a thousand years before the infection by Islam. But then again, most of the world was better off before Islam, and not just Persia.

Persia was doomed. Had the Greeks and others not done it, the Muslims would have anyway. For Muslims to decry the loss of Persian culture is just plain funny.
