(Hillary)Clinton Ducks Answer on Whether Homosexualty is ‘Immoral’
The New York Times ^ | March 14, 2007 | Patrick Healy

Posted on 03/14/2007 5:08:07 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Asked if she believed homosexuality was immoral, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton declined to answer the question in a television interview this morning and said it was for “others to conclude.” General Peter Pace, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said in a recent interview that he personally believed homosexuality was immoral and that this view was a factor in his opposition to gays serving openly in the military. Mrs. Clinton, a candidate for the Democratic presidential nomination, supports allowing gays to serve, which would amount to a change in her husband’s “don’t ask don’t tell” policy. She has also been aggressively courting gay voters and groups in recent weeks. Some gay groups have been critical of Mrs. Clinton’s refusal to support gay marriage, however, though she does support civil unions.

That witch. Geez louise, she's very liberal and tolerant. Can't she be intellectually honest enough to say that she doesn't think homosexuality is immoral? Can't she be honest enough to say that she's all in favor of "equality" with the gay world. Instead she's going to be non-committal? Only these "others" will make moral judgements, but she is oh so tolerant that she doesn't make any moral judgements????

No way.

That would mean that all that carefully-crafted "framing" that the democrat party's highly-paid experts (the ones who get the big bucks to tell the mighty how to talk to the little people) would go right out the window.

Of course she can. The next time someone has the suicidal impulse to ask her this question, she will say, "I've already addressed that question some time ago. Let's move on to something the people really want to know about me, like how wonderful a wife and mother I am.

The Methodist Church leadership especially on the east and west coasts are very very liberal. You'd lose your job as a minister on those coasts if you came out strongly against homosexuality. There was even consideration a few years ago about splitting off from the Methodist Church as a whole over this issue. Lots of the ministers, district superintendents and bishops wanted to ordain gays and do same sex marriages. The Methodist Church in the rest of the country and most of the rest of the world was against it. The rest wanted to keep or strengthen the Methodists position on homosexuality which is All people are persons of sacred worth but the practice of homosexuality is incompatible with Christianity and Methodism in particular. Those on the west coast decided to remain connected and be a "reconciling" congregation what ever the heck that means.

I don't see why it should be a factor in opposing homosexuality within the military. The military is not a social club. Adultery, fornication, and homosexuality within the ranks should be prohibited not because they are immoral (though they are), but rather because they interfere with the effectiveness of the military as a fighting force.

Back when I was married we attended her Church (UMC) rather than my denomination (Lutheran). Our first pastor was a VERY liberal man (supported the Sandanistas, friend of Senator Tom Harkin (D-Iowa), anti-death penalty, etc...) but at least he was somewhat of a human being...when he left to run a social services agency, we received a female pastor from the Bishop. Oh, my Lord! EVERY sermon for the next year was about the gay lifestyle and AIDs! I'm not exaggerating! Finally, the congregation had had enough and asked the Bishop to replace her.

She wouldn't know SMART if she bumped into it. She is NOT smart. She is a panderer! It's like when friends tell friends what they WANT to here whereas REAL FRIENDS AND PARENTS tell what you SHOULD hear like it or not. She panders to whomever is in front of her. I guess if she spoke to dogs...she would BARK to associate herself with them. She's a phony baloney. Always has, always will be. She is simply Mrs. Bill Clintin. No more...no less.
