Colorado Dems want millions for 2008 convention security ($50 million)

Rep. Diana DeGette (D-Colo.) is asking appropriators for $50 million to cover security costs at the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver. That amount is twice as much as New York and Boston got from the federal government for the conventions they hosted in 2004. DeGette spokeswoman Brandon MacGillis said she is asking for more to ensure that the host cities have everything they need.

“The hope is they won’t use all this money,” MacGillis said.

New York wound up spending about $50 million on security, and Boston spent $35 million, according to figures provided by DeGette’s office.

DeGette was joined in the request by Colorado Democratic Reps. Ed Perlmutter, John Salazar and Mark Udall.

I don't want any of the DemocRAT scum here in my home State. I WILL have a good old time parading around with big signs displaying the criminal behavior of the pack of Rat traitors and their disgusting agendas. Bring it on, Rats, you can't shut me down without having a lawsuit hit you if you pull your dirty tricks in Denver, this is NOT Philadelphia and thuggery won't work. We have cell phones with nice little pictures to send out if your thugs try anything. Salazar and Udall are disgraces and DeGette is a moron and a Stalinist, what a mess.

Money to defend yourself from your supporters.

A concept that only a liberal politician could take seriously.

Raider fan is much more likely to be a rat than not.

If THAT were the case, the name "Raiders" would have been removed and replaced by a more "get along, please all" name loooong ago!

Perhaps "The retreats" would be an acceptable name then.

Perhaps a strange suggestion...but since they aren't using Cheyene Moutain anymore....why not just set it up as the site for the convention? You wouldn't need security past the parking lot and it'd be safest place on earth for them to operate from.

"dems want millions for security."

they want people to get used to the fact that the whole ball of wax belongs to them anyway. it's just a matter of time and the preponderance of liberal voters until they confiscate everything through their "tax policy".

(totalitarian socialist scu%bags)
