GOP Calls Mount For Gonzales Ouster (Repubs are eating their own)
RightBias News ^ | 3-16-07 | UPI

Posted on 03/16/2007 2:08:24 AM PDT by nancyvideo

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., has joined a growing list of Republicans calling for the ouster of U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales. "Even for Republicans this is a warning sign ... saying there needs to be a change," Rohrabacher told CBS News. "Maybe the president should have an attorney general who is less a personal friend and more professional in his approach."

Sens. Gordon Smith, R-Ore., and John Sununu, R-N.H., have also called for Gonzales to lose his job over the way the Justice Department handled the firing of eight U.S. Attorneys.

It's not surprising Republicans agree with the socialists Democrats considering the Republican party is being taken over by socialists. it's another warning to Conservatives and reason why Conservatives should form their own party.

Democrats = Evil Party
Republicans = Stupid Party. "Stupid is as stupid does." (Forrest Gump)

GOP learned nothing from 2006 elections. A political party divided against itself cannot stand.

Democrats circled the wagons in 1990's (1998-...) when "their" President flouted numerous laws, engaged in cover-up and obstructed the investigations. Republicans in Congress cannot be counted on supporting the President and administration that didn't break any laws and constantly under attack. No wonder Bush isn't seeking support from these ingrates whom he helped elect in previous elections. Stabbing your own in the back is no way to win elections - a "lesson" of 2006, and if it keeps going like this, a would-be "lesson" of 2008.

Another shining example of the Stupid Party being above partisan politics. Beyond partisan Republican politics, that is.

The issue is not going after Gonzalez or any other Republican, it's that the Congressional Republicans rarely do it on their own. Instead, when the RATS and the MSM start the wall-to-wall campaign against the Republican target du jour, these so-called leaders of the country start acting like the geekiest high school nerd looking for acceptance from the cool kids.

I hope Alberto gets flushed. It will be karmic payback for not lifting a finger while Border Patrol agents Ramos and Compean got railroaded. F Gonzales and same for Johnny Sutton. I have no use for them

Little Alberto looks dazed and confused at press conferences. Another Bush crony who is way out of his league. I could do a better job standing on my head

I'd have no problem with Bush doing this. It's his call. He should at the same time, however, fire a few more US Attorneys, saying, "It's political. I don't like their priorities."

ZERO SYMPATHY: Albert hosed Ramos and Compean. Now it's his turn to hosed and then hopefully broomed out of the Department of Justice. It's bad enough to have an open borders president, but to also have an open borders AG is too much

Hey, I am not going to comment on the relative merits i.e. "yeah, but the dems do worse".

But,

The fact is that Gonzales lied his rear end off about the whole affair. Maybe its not big deal, but he only brought it on himself.

This shouldn't be about revenge. I'm not all for Gonzales because of his membership in Aztlan but, come-on, if we want him out we shouldn't allow the Dems to set a precedent by ginning up a faux scandal.

Alberto Gonzales
the deer in headlights look

I know the Donks get another scalp if they oust Alberto. But I don't care as long as he gets the boot. I will never forgive him for allowing the indictment of Ramos and Compean. Thus demoralizing all our Border Patrol agents.
So call it revenge.
BTW Check out wikipedia on Alberto. He admits 3 out of 4 of his grandparents were illegal aliens--->>>

Gonzales told Wolf Blitzer on CNN that no immigration documentation exists for three of his grandparents and they may have entered and resided in the United States illegally ([2]).

Despite the fact that up until now, regarding this case, it has been steady-on-the-wheel, principled, and right on the button. I agree with the earlier comment that it appears that Bush can't catch a break, and your comment shows why.

The President cannot catch a break because he acts like Charlie Bleeping Brown with the RATS, particularly Ted Kennedy. The excerpt below is from the President's joint press conference yesterday with Mexican President Felipe Calderon. It comes directly from the White House transcript (President Bush and President Calderón Participate in a Joint Press Availability) The bill in question is immigration reform, but note the expansion of the topic in the President's answer to a reporter's question on the bill:
And so, Mr. President, back to the man's question over there, I'm optimistic. But he helped -- his question was somewhat insightful -- very insightful, because what he pointed out was the legislative challenges that we face. He also made it clear in his question that the administration is very much involved with working with Republican senators to help find common ground between Republican Senators and Senator Kennedy, who is emerging as the lead senator on the Democrat side.

I will tell you, if we can find that common ground, we have a very good chance of getting the bill out of the Senate, because Senator Kennedy is one of the best legislative senators there is. He can get the job done. I know firsthand, because we reformed our education system, Mr. President, with his help in 2001. Not to slip in another issue, but we do need to get No Child Left Behind reauthorized, and I'm looking forward to working with Senator Kennedy on the reauthorization.

Haven't the last six years of Kennedy calling W a liar and roasting him in particular over NCLB enough to finally get it through the President's head not to deal with Kennedy let alone make him out to be his go-to guy in Congress? It's madness.

But is there any point where you have to say to yourself just WTF are Bush and the repubs doing? They are nothing but a pandering moderate mess right now.

Repubs are simply useless at this point!

For some stupidass reason the majority of repubs thinks this, lay down like a lamb, strategy works. What in tarnation has EVER given these spineless whimps that clue when there never has been success from pushing this pandering to the DBM/dems from the party as a whole?

Where are the conservatives???????????????????

Bush has this weird public strategy called "Compassionate Conservatism" which is an absolute joke and he's taken it too far. I'm afraid almost Everything Bush does, he does by trying to kow tow to the DBM/dems. It's a useless strategy, and for everything that is sacred and holy I don't understand why REPUBLICANS as a whole can't figure out no matter WHAT they say or do is going to be scutinized anally by the DBM/dems.

There's no question the repubs have to figure out a way to kick these sorry ass moderates and rinos out of this party or it will die.

Conservatives should form their own party.

And you're going to get your members where? From the Republican party, that's where, so you have the exact same people. Won't help a thing and will actually make matters worse as the truth is that in order to win elections, we need each other. We have to try to pressure these twits to see the light.

Republican/Conservative office holders simply reflect their constituents.

FR is their constituency.

When a new smear comes along, FR (like DC), would rather dump the ones being smeared, than fight it out with the DNC/MSM.

Happens EVERY time without fail, just ck the threads, they go way back.

Do you mean what is wrong with Republicans allowing RATS to continually beat up on them over phony issues? Our side is always playing defense. The only way to win is to go on offense. If it weren't for radio talk show hosts, like Rush, etc., we'd be in more trouble than we are.

Republicans are total wimps when it comes to fighting lying, coniving Democrats.

This issue of firing the 8 US Attorneys is as phony as the Scooter Libby fiasco but reality doesn't matter with the voters--it's perception.

When a new smear comes along, FR (like DC), would rather dump the ones being smeared, than fight it out with the DNC/MSM.

Four years ago I would have agreed with you.

But it is NOT the FR base who has been hiding under their desk sucking their political thumbs these past four years!

It's so-called President Bush (and most other Repub leaders in WashDC).

And lest you call ME a Bush basher, let me assure you I am one of those who not only worked on his campaign as a volunteer, I would have walked the earth barefoot over broken glass for him .... right up until this year.

NOW I see GWB in a different light. This 'turn-the-other-cheek crap has ruined his Presidency. This 'new tone' baloney has allowed the Demo-network-reporter-libs to stomp his agenda endlessly, due to the fact GWB refuses to stand up and fight back.

Aside from his ONE ISSUE, Iraq --- GWB has turned out to be a complete wimp.

And lest you be tempted to also add the War on Terror as one of his "good" issues, let me remind you how GWB has completely compitulated on the terrorist-wiretap issue, not to mention the Libby-Valerie Plame issue.

I'm afraid GWB has suffered a mental breakdown.

Oh, it's not outward. It's inward, in his soul, where all Presidents REALLY formulate their legacy.

I have been so loyal to this President and the GOP these past 15 years.

THAT's what really makes me ill in this whole matter.
