WASHINGTON — Members of extremist groups have signed up as school bus drivers in the United States, counterterror officials said Friday, in a cautionary bulletin to police. An FBI spokesman said "parents and children have nothing to fear."

Asked about the alert notice, the FBI's Rich Kolko said "there are no threats, no plots and no history leading us to believe there is any reason for concern," although law enforcement agencies around the country were asked to watch out for kids' safety.

Beslan is the first thing that came to my mind when I read the article.

I assume if the FBI is announcing this, these are more than the garden variety muslims that are already driving a large percentage of the school buses in our area.

Rule number one from the PC liberal handbook on combatting terrorists is: "Don't Connect the Dots!"

Rule number two: "If Something Happens as a result of NOT Connecting the Dots, it is the Evil Conservatives Fault."

"What kind of extremists?"

Extremist bus drivers ALWAYS stop at railroad crossings and NEVER make a right on red.

I can't believe you people. Okay, so they're members of extremist groups, and they're signing up to drive school buses. Well, extremists gotta eat, too, right? While they're planning terrorist activities, they have to go under cover so the FBI can't find them, so, really, the SAFEST thing is to have extremists driving our school busses as cover--I mean, they're not gonna BLOW their cover by blowing up a bus or taking kids hostage, right? So this is a GOOD thing.

Like my DUmmie impression? :D

Does the NEA qualify as an "extremist group?" :) They seem to be doing a good job of terrorizing our kids.

Yeah, I am certain al Queda has nothing but cuddly wonderfulness in plans for our children.

Nothing to worry about here. Just go back to sleep, now.

Stupid America fell back asleep about 9-1-5. They are still in their Nanny Nation, Give Me Mine mentality. As my tag line says.

Members of extremist groups have signed up as school bus drivers .........."there are no threats, no plots and no history leading us to believe there is any reason for concern"

Did they change the meaning of the word "extremist" now, too? Could some one please tell me what the new and improved PC definition is?

Yeah, it would be something if 100 buses full of kids where deliberately crashed in synchronization if different parts of the country. If that happened, and officials knew about it (which they seem to), then someone should be drawn and quartered.

Okay, well they wouldn't have to go that far. How about if the drivers are in place, and a threat is secretly made to someone in a powerful position. Would the powerful person cave? Or would the children die?

That's a more likely scenario, I think.

Sounds like another inability to connect the dots. Before 9/11 we had a lot of information, we just couldn't connect the dots. If they give us enough information, maybe we can help the F.B.I. draw a whole picture.

Speaking of that I was talking about Beslan to some of our govt officials who are high up in in the FBI and they had no idea what I was talking about.

My concern at the time was about those stupid forms the public schools send home that ask you which govt. building and job your parents work in so they can get more funding. It had all (well maybe not all, you could fill in a blank) the addresses of the various CIA buildings in the area and other govt offices. You were supposed to check off where you worked and return it to school. Anyway I've said enough.

My stomach is turning reading this. If we don't hire them we get sued. Like the flying Imans. However if we stopped letting them in to our country and tossed the ones linked to terror or even suspected of terror links out of the USA we would all be better off. All I can think is what in hell is wrong with the FBI and why are they allowing this???? And why are we the people allowing this bs??? This is our children and the future of this country at stake here.

What absolute tripe.

PLUS- we have a new word to describe these people.."extremists"....If they're EXTREMISTS- why would they be granted a license to drive a SCHOOL bus? If they're just normal foreigners making a living- why call them extremisits? WTH?!

"Most attempts by foreign nationals in the United States to acquire school bus licenses to drive them are legitimate."

Ah, doesn't that make everyone feel so much better? How many loaded school buses would have to be blown up before this statement was changed?
