Sears Tower terror plot questioned
CHICAGO, March 16 (UPI) -- Chicago officials say it is unlikely that the Sears Tower was the target of a terrorist plot.
Khalid Sheik Mohammed -- suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks -- told federal agents he planned and financed attacks on the Sears Tower and other U.S. skyscrapers, the Chicago Tribune reported.
A spokesman for Sears Tower said there was never any credible threat to the building.
"Federal authorities have not uncovered a specific threat or plot to target the Sears Tower," Mark Spencer told the Tribune.
Chicago Police Supt. Philip Cline said he had not heard about a plan to attack the building until the Pentagon released the suspected terrorist's alleged confession Wednesday.
Denial is a genetic trait for liberals and politicians.
There wasn't a "credible threat" to the WTC in '01 either, and then there wasn't any WTC.

Seven people are in custody after a sweep by law enforcement authorities in connection with an alleged plot against targets that may have included the Sears Tower, officials told CNN.
Law enforcement sources told CNN that the arrests disrupted what may have been the early stages of a domestic terrorist plot to attack the Sears Tower in Chicago, Illinois, the FBI building in Miami, and possibly other targets.
Most of these plots are not known until someone catches them at it--or unless the perps confess.

If you recall from the Path to 911 the head of security for the WTC knew there was a very credible threat but was ignored. He saved thousands of lives with his preparedness.

Two of my friends were to fly from Minneapolis to Chicago on the morning of 9/11. At check-in they were informed that two business class seats had just "become available", and would they like to upgrade. They did.
The FA in business class was obviously of ME descent.
The flight was scheduled to take off about the same time that the second plane hit the WTC.
They never got off the ground. Thank God.

In his confession, KSM said he was in charge of "managing and following up on the Cell for the Production of Biological Weapons, such as anthrax and others, and following up on Dirty Bomb Operations on American soil." I think the media is downplaying this confession because they don't want to entertain the idea that al-Qaeda could have had anything to do with the anthrax letters.
It was "John" something but as far as I'm concerned he deserves a monument in Washington as surely as any vet. If I recall correctly he walked away from the Clinton administration because they wouldn't take him seriously.
