Oh gee, Tom Delay gets to promote his self serving book on Rush, I wonder when he's going to announce he's running for President.

He's not going to run for President. But he's right about two things: first, there's a philosophical difference between conservatives and leftists that's real and second, the GOP is a bunch of linguini-spined wimps that doesn't know how to communicate with the American people and it nearly always retreats in the face of attacks from the Left. Tom DeLay got railroaded out of Washington on a manufactured scandal by the Democrats and his party wouldn't lift a finger to answer the Democrat attacks. So conservatives are going to have roll up their sleeves and get down to work because the GOP is a bunch of neutered castrati. None of them quite frankly, excite me.

Actually that couldn't be too soon to suit me. I look forward to hearing from him in the media,, and watching the Dems renew their attempts to prosecute him on those phoney charges in Texas.

Yeah charges as phony as the Valerie Plame non-scandal. Everyone knows DeLay didn't break any laws. But his own party dumped him rather than stand up to the Democrats.

LOL, DeLay did retreat and did surrender.

You might observe Washington is a town that turns the strongest conservatives into jellyfish. When you're living among the liberal social and media circuit 24/7, its enough to make you doubt if you're right. Its really like the
Twilight Zone over there.

So did the US Marines at Hue, at first, but they called it advancing to the rear, or attacking in a different direction. Tom is as sly as they come, which is why the Dems continue to fear him and encourage his political retirement, as you do.
I suspect you will sing a very different tune in about 4 months.

LOL, DeLay did retreat and did surrender.Hubbbub, what exactly were his opitons?
A political prosecution that would've ended up in jailtime just like Libby?
I see that his own electorate pulled the rug out from under him, too.
So....the party drops you, the apparatus settles a score in your state with a political prosecutor, the voters turn tail....and what's he sposed to do? Hold out his hands for political handcuffs? No....he did the best he could, retreat and attack on the rubber chicken front.
You just pick one-anyone--who's your favorite model for fighting for 'right.' Pick anyone. Delay, Hastert, Newt, Santorum, Allen.....anyone.
Trick question--what do they ALL have in common?
Mitch McConnel is the only survivor, and he's just increasing his target value right now. I fear he's next.

[...but now that I'm out, I feel very comfortable, very much at peace, and can say whatever I want to say.]
This statement says it all about the spineless attitudes of our party. It's all about submitting to fear, if you speak the truth, you have nothing to fear.
My whole attitude about Delay, changed after that interview.

I can not think of a better resume to head the executive branch in Washington.
To: OBXWanderer
Although I don't care for Tom's style of politics I'd rather have him in my corner than someone like Newt.

It is interesting Travis. We can now begin to see some shape to a conservative Republican campaign for the primaries. Tom DeLay will be part of the media team.
Imagine the puditry, exerising the same function as James Carvell. It will drive the Dems crazy , getting a little of their own medicine. As a result, watch the Dems try to nail Tom again with the bogus charges from Texas. I think though, that Tom has a plan for Ronnie Earle and his left wing buzzbats, or he would not be publishing his book.
I look forward to seeing Tom DeLay in action once again.

What I really got out of this interview was, Republicans under W have simply become wussies who will not defend any, any of their foreign policy, domestic policy or a combo of both at any time to anyone. The 'being nice' W policy to the real enemies, leftist Dems , has been a miserable failure. I yearn for a Pub leader who will sock it to the Dems on a daily level, exposing their hypocrisy on so many issues and charging them with facts that will finally show at least our BASE, that the Party and Commander cares for its own. If W turns the other cheek once more to a Leftist pacifist socialist Quisling, I will puke!
To: Candor7
RUSH: What is your thinking on why the Republicans, even after the electoral victories in '94 and presidential victories in 2000 and 2004 haven't put together something similar? DELAY: I think we got a little arrogant. I think we got a little lazy.
I think they got a little greedy also and suffered the consequences, as Conrad Burns might atest.

I'm not looking for a fight. But that may be the most ignorant post I've read on FR.
