"I counted two American flags in that whole crowd there, but a million yellow signs (how appropriate)--if the rest of the crowd was like that, how can they truly call themselves Americans and troop-supporters?? :-("
...ah...there you GO....trying to "make sense" out of it.
Welcome to the mind of the TRULY deranged and forlorn.
I like how they'll shout epithets at the people who made it POSSIBLE for them to 'demonstrate'...but the LOT of them couldn't hold off an enemy attack for THREE MINUTES...and THAT's counting the time it would take to climb over their bodies....!!!
sheesh.
Good observation, Bert. I wouldn't have thought about permit areas and such. I suppose being a dinosaur and all that, I never really gave a thought to permits. I don't think we needed those to express our opinion when I was young. Maybe I just don't remember. Either way, it's a shame. Lose your freedom or lose your mind. At least when I acted up when I was younger, I knew I was putting my backside at risk. Now you never know.
As for the Times, I just thought it it was so stupid of them to quote those numbers. They could just as well have said "There were several counter-protesters spotted at the coffee stand near the moon-bat encampment." Or, "We did observe a single counter-protester coming out of the Porta-Potty." Whatever. Hey, it's the honest truth :) Keep your eyes shut and you won't see or feel a thing. (Until it hits you.)
It is always a pleasure to have you hanging around with us.
oh doggone it Martha - I a am so sorry to hear that you missed the GOE & for such a terrible reason.
Mend well FRiend. I hear we are doing it again July 4th.. perhaps you will be healthy & I will have transportation!
AWESOME sign...
Rolling Thunder seems to be a type of garlic, to that bred of vampire.
Family in Colorado have said Californians are moving in to escape high taxes, traffic etc--and are trying to turn it into California!

"Family in Colorado have said Californians are moving in to escape high taxes, traffic etc--and are trying to turn it into California!"
..right.
We had "Don't Californicate Colorado" bumper stickers back in the 80's....!!!
More recently...seen in Vail...
"If you heart NY, take I-70 East"
Didn't meet any of the main DC freepers there but saw them on the podium for the rally. Estimates are saying 30,000 vets there and about 5-10,000 anti-protesters but all of the news sources that my daughter taped for me at home are not saying or showing any of that. The MSM is despicable as we know but their total neglect to show the American viewing public the truth about what "Americans want" is treasonous. Wish you could have joined us ... maybe at Gathering of Eagles II?

Those of us in the DC Chapter are very familiar with him; he is a regular blood-dancer at Walter Reed on Friday nights. Eric Anderson goes on protests at the private homes of administration officials (Karl Rove, Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, and more?). He likes to cause confrontations.
Eric Anderson also has tangled at WRAMC with Ted Sampley, of Rolling Thunder. Eric likes to start trouble and then he gets on his telephone and calls the police to get rescued from the fights he starts.
I think Eric is attracted to big guys in leather.
And he's rebuffed yet again.

I will forever regret that I was not able to join this historic event.
It's like Woodstock in that one will never be able to re-enact this kind of thing.
God Bless You Patriots who Stood for us all.
Wow...I cried over Lizzie Palmer's video.
I wish that could be shown in classrooms. Unforutnately, YouTube won't get past the classroom filters.
Hah! I knew I recognized that "Ichabod Crane" figure that was trailing at the end of the "Peace Prance" towards the bridge. I yelled "Squeegie!" several times but he ignored me.

Download it and make a DVD....???
Play it from a thumb drive...???
I didn't know we could download from You Tube????
Re: #1312, you are on a roll sweet. Keep it up.
Contact the original "poster"...???
There's got to be SOME kind of communication you can have with the person who CREATED the video....they would be interested in your FEEDBACK...!!!
[I'm not enough of a geek to answer the download question...just trying to HELP]
I had to get this picture of the Aussie and American flags together, one of our true friends.
Murtha, pfft, nuff said.

3 of my kids and hubby that were proud to be there. This is my little girls 3rd FReep. She's becoming quiet the little FReeper. :-)
Seems to be something the leftist either can't comprehend or they support it.
The most moving. My son took this at The Wall.
I joked to a few folks that it was like Woodstock... but I was talking about all the mud. I am so glad I wore my boots!
Just walked in the door from the long drive back from DC. All I can say is that it was a GREAT DAY TO BE AN AMERICAN!! It was absolutely awesome! To stand shoulder to shoulder with some of THE BEST people of this country(and there were thousands!) was an honor we will never forget.
We can't wait for the next one!

Sean Hannity to roll some video momentarily of the moonbats that we countered this weekend in Washington DC!
Please FReepmail me if you want on or off my FoxFan list. *Warning: This can be a high-volume ping list at times.
Good talking to you yesterday, brother.
You ain't lying! I even let my daughter get right in the middle of it all to take some pictures for a class project. I knew she was in good hands, best ever!
i hope you're feeling better.
This is what was said of her over on the enemy web sites: This lady marched down the street and would not stop for anyone to take photos or even to speak to news reporters. I suppose her statement is clear. Why don't more pro peace people carry the American flag? Why only pro war people who carry the flag? Couldn't the stigma attatched to it be redefined? It means different things to different people. It doesn't have to mean a history of genocide and imperialism only. Couldn't it be reclaimed to represent equality?
You were missed, m!
I am so sorry you are under the weather. I was sort of under house arrest myself.
Perhaps it was the Lord's way of keeping the Libs safe (from us)?
Hope you are feeling better.
War supporters take message to Washington
Mark Crowley of San Ramon is on his way to the White House this week to mark the fourth anniversary of the war in Iraq. He plans to unfurl a flag on the Mall and wave it with pride.
"My son did not die in vain," said Crowley, who left San Francisco last week with the Move America Forward caravan headed for Washington to provide a counterpoint to the big anti-war protests planned for today. At a time when polls are showing a nation turning against its president, and congressional lawmakers are getting louder in their demands for troop withdrawal, war supporters living in the Bay Area are working harder than ever to get their message out.
The Sacramento nonprofit Move For America is on a whistle-stop tour of the country, spreading support for President Bush and his military strategy. They plan to turn the Capitol Mall in Washington into a "flag city" today, in a show of red-white-and-blue opposition to the anti-war rallies that are planned for the same day.
Crowley, reached by phone in the caravan, said he feels increasing support the more miles he puts between himself and the Bay Area.
"The way I see it, there are two ways of handling this situation in Iraq," Crowley said. "Stand still and die, or take the first shot. Terrorists will come here if we don't stop them there."
His 18-year-old son, Marine Lance Cpl. Kyle Crowley, was ambushed by gunmen near Ramadi in 2003, when he rushed to the aid of soldiers who were under sniper fire.
Losing a child has turned some parents into ardent anti-war activists, but for Crowley it has convinced him even more that the United States needs to contain religious extremism from claiming more American troops.
"I just wish I could touch him one more time, grab him around the neck and give him a headlock and say 'I'm sorry. Let's go fishing,' " Crowley said. ...

Praying with you.
Yes : )
Best wishes for your healing. Hope you had surgery via the newer, less invasive techniques....
Your comments reminded me of one of my favorite songs;
Thick as a brick. (part 1)
by Jethro Tull
Really don't mind if you sit this one out.
My words but a whisper your deafness a SHOUT.
I may make you feel but I can't make you think.
Your sperm's in the gutter your love's in the sink.
So you ride yourselves over the fields and
you make all your animal deals and
your wise men don't know how it feels to be thick as a
brick.
And the sand-castle virtues are all swept away
in the tidal destruction the moral melee.
The elastic retreat rings the close of play
as the last wave uncovers the newfangled way.
But your new shoes are worn at the heels
and your suntan does rapidly peel
and your wise men don't know how it feels
to be thick as a brick.
HUGS, freema. I loved your earlier post, it was so moving. Glad you could be there,.
Bless your heart.
More thank yous to more of you who were there and reported back to us!! Thank you, thank you.
Please realize how blessed you were to be there, how proud we are of you, and DURN! We wanted to be there, too!!
Now, there are probably a dozen more threads on this which I need to find.... LOL.
I'll be waiting!
Saw both her and her sign. We need more backup during the next SF counterprotest. I don't think Custer was as outnumbered as we were. At the most, there were sixty people who were supporting the war and the troops.
As it was, our small marching column (Around 15 - 20 tops) had more American flags than most of the march combined, if not the entire march. More enemy flags up than anything else.
My sign, that said "The Geneva Convention Does Not Apply To Terrorists" and "What about Darfur" was a particular hit. I found it telling that not a single speaker mentioned the atrocity and genocide in Darfur, but was quick to insult the United States. "Supporting the Troops but not the War" my well-padded posterior, not when one of the speakers called US Troops rapists.
Ah, well. Can't take it too personally.
Thanks for the ping!
I also forgot to say, that it was the Gathering of Eagles that kept me, for one there. Knowing of the stand our veterans made was enough to inspire me to both go and stay in the face of liberal oppression.
Thank you, all of you who went. You are true sons and daughters of the United States.
NOTHING could have prepared me for what filled my eyes and my heart.
I never was so full of gratitude, never.
There is so much racing through my head and my heart...then it goes to slow motion, and back again.
I would be the same way. Keep on overflowing, freema, it's good for you.
Btw, are you in some of Race Bannon's photos, particularly the one of the group in front of the Iwo Jima memorial?
I would like to see him post that one.
I had lunch with Del, his friend Joe Kelly (we needed an Irishman), Mike Benge (ex POW), Scott Swett (Freeper par excellance and son of Vietnam veteran), and my daughter.
Del did a great job and Baily told me that he estimated that we had from 5-8,000 at the Gathering of Eagles, spread out across the Washington Mall area. You should have seen the American flags flying all over the place.
What a great "Band of Brothers".
Max Friedman, Vietnam correspondent, 1970
I never saw Race : (
USMCPOP and I visited at the cemetary. I went to the memorial from there, and was early.
I was born of the Corps, I married the Corps and I birthed the Corps. I had my moment at the monument. The monument was to be all I could hold for the day. That was their time, and the sight of them would have done me in.
They would have all floated away and it would have been my fault ; )
