Thanks, MyLife --

I want to add the links to the Victory Caucus site/forum. Lots of TVC folks were in DC today ----

Come join us at victorycaucus.com soon .... We're starting to work on getting some of the "defeatists" out of office. We may need another GATHERING OF EAGLES to get their attention ---

Sooooo PROUD of the EAGLES and the organizers! Job well done!

I pray that photos and video of the GOE rally is sent to the troops in Iraq and Afganistan so they see the truth about today's rally and that we support them.

Like you Sir, I was there (finally home and warmed up!). I tried to estimate the protesters that walked thru the Eagles gauntlet at the Lincoln Memorial. Based on the width of the "parade" the rate of march and the time they took to pass by my estimate is about 10,000. I note however that it appeared that 1/3 were there to espouse a variety of liberal agendas (health care for mothers, free the Cuban five, Katrina problems, etc) so there were probably about 6,000 anti war protesters.

The Eagles appeared to be about 2000 at around 1200 when I went from the rally site to the Memorial. While more would have been better the ratio was intimidating as they had to pass thru the "hard faced old men" who showed the same fighting spirit they had as young men in that now distant Asian War. I saw no violence but the moonbats saw that a lot of their fellow citizens do NOT agree with them and will not allow the young men fighting for us in SW Asia to be stabbed in the back the way they were in Vietnam. One of our speakers at the rally made that point ("We have your back"). Sounds like a bumper sticker to me... (GOE... We have your back... stand fast!).

My other impression is of the faith and courage of those who came to DC for the GOE. It was bitter cold... I watch a vet in motorcycle club leather (there were a lot as you can see in some of the posted photos) shake so bad from the cold he could not light a cigarette. There were also a lot walking with canes and several in wheel chairs including a few from Walter Reed or Bethesda who were well cared for. God and Jesus were present among the Eagles and both were acknowledged by men who have leaned on them in battle. The park service police were professional. They enforced good order but seemed happy we were there (overheard from a policeman after the protesters parade... "thank you for defending the Wall"). I am glad I went and proud to have been associated with brothers and sisters who love God, country, and each other in a way that the so-called protesters will never comprehend.

"WE HAVE YOUR BACK BROTHERS... SOLDIER ON!"

Can anybody give me a fairly accurate count of both sides.

I walked all around both areas, and I'd say 3,000 GOE supporters and maybe 3,500 moonbats. It was pretty close.

This is what the AP is saying:

Police no longer give official estimates but said privately that perhaps 10,000 to 20,000 anti-war demonstrators marched, with a smaller but still sizable number of counterprotesters also out in force. An hour into the three-hour Pentagon rally, with the temperature near freezing, protesters had peeled away to a point where fewer than 1,000 were left.

It was great seeing the large turnout that we had on our side. The left was bewildered.

BTW, from what I have heard, most of the protesters didn't have the fortitude to stay at their rally at the Pentagon. It was too cold for them.

Hi mystery!! I am sooooo excited and happy to see how many wonderful people were at the GOE to show support for our troops and our country!! God bless those patriots, Kristinn, JustaNobody, Tsltakoma and all the other Freepers who represent us so well.

And, finally, some fair coverage from one outlet....Fox did a decent job of showing our side...which was easily recognized by all the BEAUTIFUL American flags!

I had to work today. Otherwize I would have been at the Ft. Lewis Gathering of Eagles with my cousin who traveled across state to join them. He is a Viet Nam Vet with a Purple Heart. He lost his leg below the knee after a battle of 10 operations trying to save it.

My cousin recently called Senator Patty (Obama Momma) Murray's office to get help for his son-in-law, just back from Iraq. To his surprise, the man answering the phone said, "I'm not going to sit here and listen to your $hit!" When there are political points to be made against the Bush Administration, our U.S. Senator for Washington State turns into a Moonbat screaming that our wounded veterans are not being given proper medical care. And, the press becomes a megaphone for the moonbat screams but ignores the cry of millions who only want to live free of tyranny. They not only ignore those crys but also the crys of Americans throughout this nation that are fed up with the lies of the Left. The press does not deserve the First Admendment rights they abuse like a wife abuser that beats his wife.

The fastest way for us is to go to I-76 and catch the turnpike in Ohio.

It's weird, but it saves about a half hour from going on I-70.

We've gone both ways and tested it.

That being said, we would be thrilled to go through W Va and pick you up. And I MEAN that!

Our problem this time was that we had a very short window because of Mr Ohio's work and church obligations (i.e my JOB!), and that window filled up with snow in PA. :)

Hopefully, Americans will wake up and stay awake. But, mostly, I pray Americans will STAND UP for our veterans, all military now serving, and especially, for the future of our great country.

It's sad, isn't it. I wrote in to a few news sites asking them to cover the GOE, including Drudge. Fox had pretty good coverage on TV today, that was good. But, I was shocked also that Drudge didn't mention it at all. He's definitely been falling short.

I was thinking the same thing. God bless every one who was there to stand up for our troops and victory. I would have loved to be there with you.

Know that without you there, the troops would only get news and feeds of the useless idiots. Seeing you will help morale, and that's the least we can do, eh? They are over there fighting the enemy for us. It's good we can fight the enemy within for THEM!

Thank you all SO VERY MUCH!
