As war protesters marched toward Arlington Memorial Bridge en route to the Pentagon yesterday, they were flanked by long lines of military veterans and others who stood in solidarity with U.S. troops and the Bush administration's cause in Iraq. Many booed loudly as the protesters passed, turned their backs to them or yelled, "If you don't like America, get out!" Several thousand vets, some of whom came by bus from New Jersey, car caravans from California or flights from Seattle or Michigan, lined the route from the bridge and down 23rd Street, waving signs such as "War There Or War Here." Their lines snaked around the corner and down several blocks of Constitution Avenue in what organizers called the largest gathering of pro-administration counter-demonstrators since the war began four years ago. The vets turned both sides of Constitution into a bitter, charged gantlet for the war protesters. "Jihadists!" some vets screamed. "You're brain-dead!" Others chanted, "Workers World traitors must hang!" -- a reference to the Communist newspaper. Some broke into "The Star-Spangled Banner" as war protesters sought to hand out pamphlets.

Great stuff. I'm very proud of everyone who participated.
National Park Service says we numbered around 30,000 and AOL News reports ANSWER to be between 10,000 and 20,000. ANSWER was more condensed though whereas we were spread throughout the mall, the memorials, etc. I'd say we had em beat.
I hope its covered in tomorrow's news....holding breath..
Nasty lefty people....and I mean nasty.
Terrific job and thanks and hugs to you all!!! Great pics too! : )
You beat them by 10,000? Outstanding!!!!!
bttt
all 3 local columbus, OH tv stations had a short piece on this.
All covered briefly cindy sheehan and ramsey clark.
The anti war protesters got more time but they did show the pro US side too.
I think it was channel 4 who showed someone shouting "take a bath, get a job".
In Columbus, no one cared much about this as OSU basketball team advanced on a buzzer beating 3 point shot.
More than that. Almost all the media reports of the liberal numbers are greatly exaggerated. I doubt if there were more than 5000 libs there.
Yes, they always do. WOW, most impressive! : )

I was there ping
We definetly outnumber as well as outclasses the moonbats.
Seeing all of the Veterans standing on the National Mall was truly a sight to behold.
Way to go, thanks. (From a Vet)
Woo-Hoo! Fabulous photos and may God bless y'all.
How much longer will the WA compost survive? What absolute bull$hit! We KNOW they hate anything and everything about the President and anyone even remotely connected with him, but in this one line they also make our troops their enemy! All the while, of course, they claim to "support" the troops.
This article, like the compost itself, shows utter contempt for the troops. I wonder how such a "news organization" would function under Islamic rule. I wonder if they have a clue.
You expected niceties from this group of low-life fools?
March 17, 2007 was a day that will go down as the first day that patriots decided to answer ANSWER man for man and woman for woman. Cindy Sheehan and Jane Fonda and the anti-America chorus didnt monopolize the day. Veterans, bikers, and moms and dads and kids wouldnt let them. Not anymore. It was a historic day.

Did you read the article where it described the incidents that motivated the counter-protestors as "pavement on a Capitol terrace"?????
Wow, once again, I'm impressed with the mastery of the art of language!
The steps of the Capital were spray-painted.
So real Americans spent their own money to buy their own tickets and print their own signs and give their own time to protect the monuments dedicated to honor those who have died for our nation, our freedoms in the past.
God bless America and God bless these good men and women.
Beverly Nuckols
I thought exactly the same.....the repeated use of misleading and disdainful phrases re the Eagles and the mission is typical of the WaPo.
Barbie and Ken on Channel 12 in Phoenix made no mention of counter-demonstrators. All they talked about was how wonderful the anti-American, pro-Islamofascist Commies were. NBC jugheads not interested in the truth.
With the exception of the aerial AP photo, I took these today...an awe inspiring response to the unclean moonbats. A small group of brave eagles met the loonie marchers head-on at Arlington:

The most handsome group of Iraq vets--these are the guys in the WaPo photo

The mounted Park Police stayed between us and the unclean
Ya gotta appreciate that! There's nothing better than a mounted police who really support good hygiene! =)
The mounted Park Police eventually came between us and the unclean. When the moonbats first came over the bridge, there was one cop at our location. He called in for backup when the nutters splintered off at the Arlington circle, and attempted to cross our line.
"March 17, 2007 was a day that will go down as the first day that patriots decided to answer ANSWER..."
The Day Everything Changed, That Everything Changed
(let's steal some Liberal hyperbole, shall we??"

In case one didn't know...FReepers here. Note the Free Republic.com jacket in lower left.

The title for that photo should be:
"Attention Traitor Moonbats: WE HAVE YOU SURROUNDED"
BTTT
Bump!
WELL DONE, LAD...!!!
[USN 1967-70]
But I'd never wish Hell on anyone who could repent.
jeered along the way by large numbers of angry counter-protesters.
The Eagles were "Angry counter-protesters" while the (LMFAO) demonstrators protested.
F-the media! The Anti-American crowd lost their credibility with this one.
Good Job Eagles! /Salute
MaxMax.
This can not be true! I heard on the blessed CNN that thousands marched in the protest and there were a few counter protesters.
CNN wouldn't lie now would they?
SArc /off
Thank You For Being There for Us!
You Eagles are awesome! Thank you thank you thank you!
"The pacifist actually refuses to defend what defends him; his country. In the final analysis this is the most basic immoral position." General George S. Patton
WOO-hooooo!
Thanks for posting this update!
Damn straight!
LOL
It was nice to see which way most of those mounted police horses asses were facing.
Yes, I was taking a picture of Nick Danger.
We outnumbered ANSWER by almost 2 to 1!!

If you missed it, you misssed what may be a one time event...but again, it could also be the first of many that bring about change in the right direction.
The Vietnam Vets got even with the hippies today! :)
Others chanted, "Workers World traitors must hang!" -- a reference to the Communist newspaper.
No, Brigid Shulte, "Workers World traitors must hang," is a reference to International ANSWER, the communist front group that sponsored the rally. And the traitors being referenced were the Becker brothers, Ramsey Clarke, Mara VerHeyden-Hilliard, Larry Holmes and other International ANSWER leaders.
If we wanted to reference a communist newspaper, we would refer to the Washington Post.
No worries, chances are that even Hell has hygienic standards these freaks wouldn't meet.
I doubt if there were more than 5000 libs there.
A few years ago my grandson and I were able to look down on a protest of the MMM.
Per the MSM they expected 500 people to show up.
After the event the MSM reported 300 protesters where there.
My grandson counted 128 "bodies" I counted 126.
If the MSM reports a number of libs, I feel it is safe to say that the actual number is 1/2 to 1/3 of their count.
