Lawyer: News Outlet Has Escort List(Palfrey's List)

WASHINGTON (AP) - A federal judge ruled Friday that a former escort service owner cannot sell phone records and other documents that could be used to publicly identify thousands of her clients.

Deborah Jeane Palfrey, 50, has said she planned to sell the list of up to 15,000 client phone numbers and other records to a news organization to help raise money for her defense. The alleged "D.C. Madam" ran Pamela Martin and Associates, an upscale escort service in the Washington area, for 13 years before it closed in August.

Palfrey's civil attorney, Montgomery Blair Sibley, said Friday he does not believe the judge's order bars him from distributing copies of the phone records for free.

In any event, Sibley said it's a moot point because he has already given copies of the records to an undisclosed news organization. Sibley said the original records are preserved and nothing he has done will prevent prosecutors from inspecting all the materials

I'd presume there are no Republicans on the list or we'd already know about them.

"She should take them down."

Better she does it this way. Otherwise, Marcy Park and the corner Starbucks become dangerous places...

My guess: Because both Pubbies and 'Rats are on the list and there's a MAD strategy underway, in other words if the Pubbies fink on the 'Rats, the 'Rats will fink on the Pubbies. Betcha there are some journos on the list as well.

Somebody's got to get their mitts on that list and let it ALL hang out.

Back when the news of the Craig Spence male prostitute ring that reached into the White Whouse broke, so too did a couple of lesser *feeder* operations come to light, one in Nebraska that flew young boytoys from Nebraska locations- including the famed Boy's Town orphanage- and another, titled *Muscles Midwest* that provided young male hustlers to an Indiana-Ohio clientele that included state capital legislators, lobbyists, attorneys and at least one Indiana Supreme Court nominee who wound up stabbed to death by one of the MM boy prostitutes...and whose pimp/operator reportedly committed suicide in Ohio before he could be arrested. Upon recovering the *Muscles Midwest* client/preferences list, and finding the numerous prominent state and local politicians on it, the Ohio investigators were reeled in, and last I'd heard the US Secret Service got custody of the records, on the basis that someone from Indiana under their protective umbrella was on it.

But at least one Indianapolis Star columnist was not only involved with one of the MM male prostitutes, but wrote openly about it. The operator, BTW, is buried in Washington, Indiana, where an arson death and related disappearance of a couple of local youngsters around 1988 remains unsolved.

We ALREADY KNOW that Clinton Operatives are on the list, and rumor is that she specialized in Lesbians... Remember, you can go back as far as 1993!

Oh, you can go clear back to 1988-89, since turn about is fair play.

See # 28, above.

The Perky one; Katie Coric? But that begs the question; as a client or a sub-contractor?

She was in "Business" for 13 years, and was shut down last year.

So, for this particular pool, let's use 1993 as the start date, which just happens to coincide with the arrival of Clinton's "Beautiful People" in Washington!

And since WE KNOW one high-level Clinton Staffer is on the list, how many others are there?

Time to start a speculation poll. Brokaw? Rather? We can build a list and develop a "mostly likely top candidate".

Ted Koppel and, before his 1992 death "of stomach cancer" on July 9, 1992 at age 79, Eric Severeid. To name but two, based not just on speculation, but as named by witnesses.

She was in "Business" for at least 13 years. And was almost certainly sponsored by a more local figure who foresaw the need for the service/s she coiuld provide, which were ongoing for quite sometime before Clinton's arrival.

See, for example, this Free Republic 1999 post of a 11/'98 WND article posted by Uncle Bill *here*. These affairs and those behind them go WAY back before 1993.

Why the assumption that the news agency that has the list leans one way or the other? Wouldn't you think she calculated on who she would give the list to? Unless she plain "doesn't care", I suspect she released it to whomever she thought would use it to harm who she wanted harmed.

That's why I think its important to know how she operated for 13+ years and who it was that allowed her to do so(and why she is just now being shut down).

50 bucks says Cold Cash Jefferson is on that list.

You only bet on sure things and fixed horse races.

I would need some huge odds before I bet against you!

I grew up in that area and I couldn't help but notice the defense attorney's name - Montgomery Blair Sibley. That person is connected down to the shoes there, unless she just made up that name for herself, which would never be allowed by the Montgomerys, the Blairs or the Sibleys.

Remember the House Banking Scandal? This could be bigger. And I think that's a good thing.

Someone should start a thread on FR. I bet 100 bucks that Dick "The Toe Sucker" Morris is on the list.

Well, it won't be Barney Frank -- he uses the personal columns.

Heck, ol' Barney had an outcall service in his apartment.

Don't let those in power bury this list, the way they did with Heidi Fleiss!

It would have been nice to be able to sell the list to pay for the Madam's defense, but after the adverse court ruling the nuke-Washington option is a good second choice. She needs to 'accidentally' let the list fall into the hands of those underground newspapers, like the Village Voice. Although most of these papers have a leftist slant, there is enough libertarian sentiment among their editorialists that the whole list will become public.

Can one of our armchair lawyers note the law the prevents owners from selling private property?

The government has unlimited powers to seize private property under the "fruit of the poison tree" doctrine, in this case the charge of running a brothel. She has to leak it before all the copies are shredded.

If there are Repubs on the list, so be it. Out them. I don't want men like that running my country.

Seconded. Instead, we need libertarians who will end the hypocrisy and legalize the whole thing.
