Maybe Ted Stryker was sitting next to her, telling her war stories?
From another source:
""The corpse was strapped into the seat but because of turbulence it kept slipping down on to the floor," Trinder , a businessman, was quoted as saying. "It was horrific. The body had to be wedged in place with lots of pillows."
The woman's daughter was also upgraded and spent the rest of the nine-hour flight from Delhi to London grieving next to her dead mother, the Sun reported"
OK, I want to know if she became classified as carry-on. (Oh, I so know God's gonna get me for that!)
Man, I hate it when that happens...
That saves the airline the cost of the free drinks!
ROFL!!! That's perfect!
'Tis a heck of a thing to have to do to get a seat upgrade.
My flight attendant said it was almost mealtime. I asked her what are our choices and she said "A Yes or No will be fine."
Just joking..
No kidding...
..I thought...How insensitive this guy passenger was...complaining because a poor dead woman was across the aisle and her grief stricken daughter was next to her sobbing loudly...
...what did he want them to do..
.throw her off the plane?--literally!
But now I think the passenger was due an explanation....
..how would he know the woman died of natural causes?..if she did.....
..or could she be carrying something contagious.
The guy in first class got stiffed!
I don't see anything all that wrong. They had a very difficult situation, and dealt with it as best they could.
Notice that the guy says they put her "near" him. If it was "next" to him he would have probably said it that way. Sounds to me like there were some empty seats in 1st and they put the woman and her daughter together up there.
Nice.....they reuse those pillows and blankets on airlines. That must have been wonderful, carrying the body through the cabin past all the other passengers. I wonder if they had the passengers pass her forward, mosh-pit style.
Surely you're joking.
>Surely you're joking.
I'm not, and stop calling me Shirley.
More importantly, did the family get charged for the upgrade?
A true tragedy that could have been handled a little bit better by the Airline Staff (one way notify the passengers in First Class of wat has happened, even if you must wake them. The majority probably would have been very sympathetic), and handled much better by the Passengers.
Now, call me old-fashioned, but jokes at the poor person who passed aways expense are sad. Funny, but we really should be ashamed of ourselves. How would you feel if it was you?
I know, if it was 'you' you'd be dead, and wouldn't care. :)
Oh boo-hoo. What does the guy expect them to do with someone who dies in flight? People die, it's a fact of life pal.
I thought BA planes had these, as well. That would have seemed proper.
