MILWAUKEE - A group of Iraq War protesters vandalized the windows at the Army recruitment center on Oakland Avenue near the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee campus on Monday night.
Milwaukee police had six people in custody and were questioning several more potential suspects. Witnesses say they saw anywhere from 20 to 40 people dressed in black flee from the scene.
A Web site posting on Monday said that the act was a protest against the U.S. involvement in Iraq, in connection with Tuesday's fourth anniversary of the war.
Torches made from chair legs, fireworks, and black flags were strewn in front of the Army recruitment center. Windows were broken, but there didn't appear to be much damage to the inside of the building. One witness heard loud sounds and then saw a large group fleeing the scene.
"A group of kids were running down the road, about 20 kids or so, just screaming and wearing all black and faces covered, and they had crowbars and baseball bats," said Dan Riess.
Six people are in custody. TODAY'S TMJ4 cameras caught one man being brought back to the scene by police. At least one woman was taken into custody as well. A witness claimed he saw the group a few blocks away after the alleged attack on the recruitment center.
"There were 30 to 35 people, all dressed in black, with buckets spray painted black, just ran by, none of them said a thing, it was all very quiet," said Sal Strehlow.
The Website www.mke.indymedia.org showed a picture on Monday night of a group of protesters holding an anti-war sign. The same sign was found in front of the Army recruitment center after the attack.
Milwaukee police say the participants could face charges of disorderly conduct and criminal damage. There were no reports of injuries.
A witness said one of the protesters had a video camera.

But don't you dare question their patriotism, their support of the troops, or suggest that maybe they aren't so much anti-war, as just on the other side.

I'm sorry. I'm posting at 3:00 A. M. What was I thinking?
Of course the papers will not publish the names of the anti-American jerks! They probably would publish the names of concealed carry permit holders, but they would NEVER do the same to a bunch of leftist criminals.
I think I'm going to hit the sack. I must be out of my mind with exhaustion to think the papers would be neutral.
It's incredible the hallucinations that can come about from being too tired!

They could have just as easily been even worse guys.. It is time to arm up recruiters. They are very high profile isolated and easy targets.
I hope in the future upon seeing a group of armed masked individuals a citizen or peace officer uses the better part of valor and lights them up.

It's amazing... the terrorists are hell bent on killing American soldiers, and who do these protesters get upset at? American Soldiers.
There is such a disconnect in this country with these people.

The local rag The Milwuakee Urinal-Sentinel be fair and balanced? Of course they won't publish the names. These "kids" will likely not even get a slap on the wrist. I like how they make this sound like a bunch of high school pranksters. I would classify it as a hate crime. This brings to mind the moonbats that slashed tires of the pubbie "get out the vote" vehicles that were to be used to get people to the polls. Rat bastards all of them!

Let's hope the federal prosecutor in Milwaukee takes this seriously. The local DA's office is notoriously weak. The tire slashers of 2004, including Rep. Moore's son, got off with an easy plea bargain. No fed charges of acting and conspiring to violate people's civil rights (right to vote in a federal election) were ever filed. The fed prosecutor (US attorney) apparently slept right through that one. Let's hope he wakes up this time.

Damage blamed on frustration
I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised that the paper did indeed print the names of these jerks.
From the article:
Nine of the adults arrested Monday were from Milwaukee, six were from West Bend and one each from Waukesha, Wauwatosa and Madison. Arrested were: Kelsey M. Kazik, 20, Sara Keiza, 17, Jillian Duckwitz, 21, Richard A. Ketcham, 22, Thomas P. Buckholt, 17, Andrew L. Ortlieb, 24, Kathryn E. Jacobs, 20, Keith Crum, 20, and Andrew Smart, 19, all of Milwaukee; Craig R. Barringer, 20, of Waukesha; Jonathon W. Wilson, 17, of Wauwatosa; Amy M. Barger, 19, Jessica L. Brooks, 18, Derek W. Johnson, 17, Nathan J. Bartelt, 20, Jeffrey G. Lavato, 18, and Kyle Sawson, 21, all of West Bend; and David W. Clerkin, 21, of Madison. The three juveniles were not named.
The article also indicated that these "peace" protesters meet up at the West Bend library on Thursday afternoons. I wonder if the library needs to have their funding cut. I have doubts that the taxpayers of Wisconsin would like the idea of a public library being used for a meeting ground for violent lunatics.

Great Idea...
Problem is We ARE NOT AT WAR!!!
The President only recived an authorization for the use of force..
The Demon-Crats and Republi-Cons crawfished... They both knew what they were doing...What a "use of force authorization really meant."
Bush blinked ... he was strategically out maneuvered by his own party. Even if he wanted to do the right thing, he lacks the authority to do it.
The opportunity was squandered...
Now we watch the GQ General fiddle diddle dance as that bunch of excuse laden incompetent but Oh So "Photogenic" and "Well Spoken" GQ Generals make the "excuse de jur" why they lose the battle and our friends and family memebers die riding around in Wheeled Crapomatics.. in a "SASO" mission like delivery service for the enemy to kill at leasure.
W
SASO= Stability and Support Mission
Hati was a SASO...
Iraq is a war which our Pretty Boy GQ Generals do not want to fight nor win.
Afganistan is sleightly better because the fight is less political (fewer big wig Generals)the Canadians Britain and other countries Generals have areas of responsibility, have air mechanized and are able to do what needs to be done..

No the ones arrested are just the dumb asses "useful fools".
Find and identify the masterminds the people who have poisoned theses young peoples minds encouraged them break the law..
Look hard enough you are going to find some old Commies or maybe Islamos organized this maybe with a little luck some educators..
Find them. Get one or more of these young ones to testify to the names of the sacks higher up the food chain. You let these young sacks off on misdemeanor vandalism or even let them walk. What you then have are the real bad actors behind the operation and you have them on felony conspiracy charges. Further as it is against a federal government facility you can send the sacks up for 10 years... Do that and do it high profile.. Watch other enemy sympathizers head for the hills.
Hammer the leaders and don't let up..
