Schwarzenegger Calls Rush Limbaugh Irrelevant
LA Times ^

Posted on 03/20/2007 2:02:51 PM PDT by Gopher Broke

Schwarzenegger Calls Rush Limbaugh Irrelevant "All irrelevant. Rush Limbaugh is irrelevant. I am not his servant." - Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger this morning on the "Today Show," speaking to Campbell Brown.

During the one-on-one interview, the Republican-registered California governor was asked about criticism from Limbaugh and other conservatives that he has become a Democrat in disguise for supporting stem-cell research, mandatory curbs on carbon dioxide emissions and universal health care. Schwarzenegger said he is "the people's servant of California. What they call me - Democrat or Republican or in the center, this and that - that is not my bottom line. This is for them to talk about."

To be honest I have a real problem when journalist get someone in the guest seat and said so and so said so and so how do you respond? From reading Rush, Arnold gets this set-up everytime on the shows and I think he is tired of it. Having said that, anyone that should listen to and follow the advise of an entertainer (which is what Rush is) is nuts.

Rush Limbaugh is a radio personality, a commentator. Why in the world would his comments be important to Campbell Brown? Has she and the other limp-wristed liberals agreed that Rush is the voice of conservative America? Can they not stop themselves from measuring their silly beliefs against what he says on his radio program? Campbell Brown and all the others like her are really a pitiful lot.

Yeah, I see both sides. Arnold doesn't want people to think he's "controlled," but on the other hand, he should say, "I have great reee-spect vor dis great Amer-eee-can and vee should all list-en to vhat hee says!"

Schwarzenegger is just a "covert Kennedy".

He is indeed...and those of us who pointed this out before his election were mocked as "far right wing extremists" by his legions of supporters here on FR. Same thing that's happening now with Rudy. Some people never learn.

I agree with you. I don't think Rush believes half the things he says.

Arnold has managed to get elected and remain very popular in a very difficult state (and even bounced back when it looked like he's dead). He has some political know-how. Rush, despite the number of listeners he has, could never hope to get elected. It's easier to give advice than to follow it.

Save this thread for 5 years.

See then who is relevant and who is not.

My money's on Rush. Arnold will be a celebrity, but he will NOT be a main street player.

If someone is right and makes sense, I'll listen to their advice -- like that "entertainer" Ronald Reagan.

Rush is CONSERVATIVE. That's what bothers you.

Those steroids he has been living on for years have shriveled his previous rather small brain. He married into the Kennedy family and adopted their bad habits - that didn't help either. It might be characterized as the "fat Teddy" disease.

He's bowing to political reality. California is a very liberal state. He wants to stay in office, so he's doing what the majority of Californians want. The minority there may not like it, but that's the way it is.

Someone here once posted that electing Der-Schwarzenegger would put the Kennedy's in control of the world's 7th largest economy (California) simply by marriage if he was elected. I agreed then much as I do now. Republican/Conservative principled people allow their virtues to be used against them so that we get RINO's like these.

Wrong. He should represent the people who elected him, not every damn person in the state. People elected Arnold because they mistakenly believed he was a Republican, and would follow Republican principles. He was expected to act like a Republican. If every elected official were to abandon party principles to try to make every one happy, why bother having political parties in the first place? In fact, why bother having elections? If nobody is expected to adhere to any principles once in office, let's save ourselves all of the expense and just appoint our leaders, perhaps based on some kind of lottery system. Or maybe just alphabetically.

While looking for property in La-La land last fall, I checked out a 50 acre site. I learned I could only use one-tenth of the property and the other nine-tenths had to remain pristine for manzinatas or reserved for the goats that might want to climb the hills.

The majority of people in California don't even realize they live in a soviet socialist dictatorship.

a man with Rush's Listening-ship numbers is NEVER irrelevant. If Arnie is going to say something, that is the most idiotic, non truth he could express. Shows how unintelligent this man is. Unfortunately he is my Governor. I find Rush to be quite relevant and have since he first came around amassing the numbers he has, whether I disagree or agree with him. Maybe the terminator is jealous Ruch gets more respect.
