Usually APC's have sizable ground clearance [as they are designed for all-terrain use]. This APC does not seem to have it, judging from the photo. Of course, Blackwater operations do not take place in a forest, but still...
I thinkin' that it's one of those ... "if you have to ask, you can't afford it" things.
I think it is interesting to see a PMC starting to design such equipment...an APC made by and for a private army.
Perhaps a track design would be better. All that armor and then the tire. Seems like a weak link.

Yep, but by cratering a street [if it has not been already potholed] or tossing a few concrete blocks and other garbage such a vehicle could be relatively easy to trap. Were I involved in design, I'd think about giving it more of ATV capability - not that much more, but more. 4 axles, so if one is blown, the thing does not get stuck but can continue on the remaining ones, clearance to a tune of 1.5+ feet - things of that type.
And when the terrorists live among the populace makes for a difficult situation.

I just spent 6 weeks at Black Water for I must say the best training in my life, and I got to see a Grizzly up close. I hope the US Military buys all that can be made. They have two sitting on the BW compound.
They have a black one. But I didn't see the chrome rims.
