"Comprehensive Immigration Reform" to be Introduced Tomorrow!
fairus.org ^ | 03.21.07

Posted on 03/21/2007 9:32:35 AM PDT by VU4G10

March 21, 2007

Yesterday, Congressmen Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Luis Gutierrez (D-IL) held a conference call with reporters in which they announced their intention to introduce a "comprehensive immigration reform" bill on Thursday. There were few substantive details released at that time, but sources tell us that at the very least, the bill will contain some sort of amnesty provision for illegal aliens currently in the United States.

This morning, CongressDaily reports that Congressmen Flake and Gutierrez, who had been participating in negotiations with Senators John McCain (R-AZ) and Ted Kennedy (D-MA) about the components of a new immigration bill, have now decided to let the Senate move on its own track and forge ahead with their legislation in the House. One aide to Flake is quoted as saying, "The House has not had a chance to consider a comprehensive immigration bill."

Observers note that there has been discord in the Senate as Members have had difficulty pleasing both the demands of labor and big business. Nevertheless, Senator Kennedy issued a statement applauding the introduction of "comprehensive immigration reform" legislation in the House. The statement said, "While we're still negotiating in the Senate, I'm optimistic that we will have legislation soon."

NOW IS THE TIME TO ACT!!!

Please call your Representatives TODAY and urge them to reject guest worker amnesty legislation. Tell them:

You oppose guest worker programs that displace American workers and depress wages; You oppose rewarding illegal immigration with a path to citizenship; Rewarding illegal immigration will only lead to more illegal immigration; and Granting amnesty is inherently unfair to those who play by the rules, apply through legal channels, and patiently wait in line to come to the United States. To find the phone number for your Representative, click here.

Your voices do make a difference!!! Yesterday, the New York Times reported that candidates campaigning in Iowa are hearing non-stop from voters who are upset at the prospect Congress will pass guest worker amnesty legislation. The paper writes: "The issue has become much more complicated as the presidential campaign has gotten under way, exposing the Republicans in particular to voters who are angry about what they see as porous borders, growing demands from immigrants on the social welfare and education systems and job losses that they link at least in part to a low-wage labor force coming over the border." To read the entire article, click here.

In addition, PLEASE take time out of your busy schedules to attend town hall meetings! Go with your family, friends and neighbors to let your Representatives and Senators know how you feel. While you may not immediately see how persuasive you are, FAIR hears stories from Congressional staffers all the time about how immigration is one of the most important issues at district events. Members want to hear from their voters, and if you do not voice your opinion, the voices of special interests will prevail!

Stay tuned for more updates from FAIR.

Should have figured as much. Bush mentioned the Comprehensive Immigration Bill yesterday during the question and answer period about G;onzales. I guess Bush and Teddie Kennedy will be working together to destroy our country.

Will the American people allow this to happen?
Most of America has no idea this is about to happen!
Americans will be advised by the media, after this is signed into law.

"I guess Bush and Teddie Kennedy will be working together to destroy our country."

Sure. This Bush will try to complete what was started by Daddy......fortunately Daddy got a surprise, and had only 7 weeks as a lame duck when he was expecting a full 4 yrs. After he was defeated in the 92 election, he STILL comitted the USA to the "fast-track" re NAFTA.......THIS Bush currently has 22 months as a lame duck to do whatever he and other trilateralists can get away with.

It's a FACT that Latino organizations don't like Bush, and think even THIS isn't going far enough. They won't rest until they achieve their goals. Citizenship and Open Borders.

On May 1st, yet again, we will be harassed with another "Day without an Immigrant" Nation wide, disgusting protest march with demonstrations and boycott.

The American public overwhelmingly does NOT support this Shamnesty bill.

It must be stopped!

Conservative Republicans, the few that are left like Sessions and Tancredo and Hunter, need to submit an amendment, to wit:

g.) All illegals subject to the provisions of this legislation shall have a minimum wage equal to the Davis-Bacon wage rate in effect for that locality.

h.) All ilegals subject to this legislation shall be guaranteed employment for life by the hiring or sponsoring employer.

i.) Employers of illegals may not outsource these or any other jobs to offshore locations.

That will kill it fast.

Unless the Dems and RINOs want to deny a living wage to these new Americans.

Making them "legal" isn't quite the same as making them citizens. But, no matter what, they'll still get goodies and you and I will pay for them. That is, unless the "deal" requires them to pay all back taxes not collected since the got here...........

Lou Dobbs Tonight -- CNN -- March 20

Wian: Even the Los Angeles Teachers Union is demanding the effective end of immigration law enforcement.

Marc Rich: We demand full rights for all workers in the United States, documented or undocumented.

Wian: Organizers claim recent immigration raids have created an atmosphere of racist terror against immigrant communities. In fact, there's evidence the White House has backed off of immigration lawbreakers in recent months.

The press secretary for the California Republican Party is the son of illegal aliens who came the USA 35 years ago. In this article he chronicles how in recent years there has been a massive change in the number and kind of illegals coming north. Including a crimnal element that is causing a deterioration in the quality of life of Americans. Consider this article Illegal aliens murder 12 Americans daily Death toll in 2006 far overshadows total U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq, Afghanistan

People have been referring to the Captains Quarters as a rebuke to the assertions of the article. The Captain's Quarters makes the assertion that -- for the numbers to be true -- it would have to be the case that a small number of people were committing a lot of crimes. That is to say far outside the statistical norm for the USA. The problem is that he didn't actually check the federal stats. As it happens it is the case that illegals tend to be very repeat offenders.

Below are some government stats to back up the article's assertioms

From the FBI crime statistics * An estimated 16,692 persons were murdered nationwide in 2005, an increase of 3.4 percent from the 2004 figure. * Murder comprised 1.2 percent of the overall estimated number of violent crimes in 2005. (Based on Table 1.) * There were an estimated 5.6 murders per 100,000 inhabitants.

Illegal Alien Crime Wave

On April 7, 2005, the US Justice Department issued a report on criminal aliens that were incarcerated in federal and state prisons and local jails. In the population study of 55,322 illegal aliens, researchers found that they were arrested at least a total of 459,614 times, averaging about 8 arrests per illegal alien. Nearly all had more than 1 arrest. Thirty-eight percent (about 21,000) had between 2 and 5 arrests, 32 percent (about 18,000) had between 6 and 10 arrests, and 26 percent (about 15,000) had 11 or more arrests. Most of the arrests occurred after 1990. They were arrested for a total of about 700,000 criminal offenses, averaging about 13 offenses per illegal alien. One arrest incident may include multiple offenses, a fact that explains why there are nearly one and half times more offenses than arrests. Almost all of these illegal aliens were arrested for more than 1 offense. Slightly more than half of the 55,322 illegal aliens had between 2 and 10 offenses.

CRIMINAL HISTORY

More than two-thirds of the defendants charged with an immigration offense were identified as having been previously arrested. Thirty-six percent had been arrested on at least 5 prior occasions; 22%, 2 to 4 times; and 12%,1 time. Sixty-one percent of those defendants had been convicted at least once; 18%, 5 or more times; 26%, 2 to 4 times; and 17%, 1 time. Of those charged, 49% had previously been convicted of a felony: 20% of a drug offense; 18%, a violent offense; and 11%, other felony offenses. Twelve percent had previously been convicted of a misdemeanor. Defendants charged with unlawful reentry had the most extensive criminal histories. Nine in ten had been previously arrested. Of those with a prior arrest, half had been arrested on at least 5 prior occasions. Fifty-six percent of those charged with a reentry offense had previously been convicted of a violent or drug-related felony. By contrast, under half of those charged with alien smuggling, a third of those charged with unlawful entry, and just over a quarter those charged with misuse of visas and other charges had previously been arrested. The criminal histories of these defendants were generally less extensive: more than 70% had been previously arrested fewer than 5 times. "Comprehensive Immigration reform"

TRANSLATION: "Come one, come all! No questions asked! Please make yourself at home, amigo, and sign up for whatever taxpayer benefits you can get, plus the road to citizenship expedited especially for you, my Mexican friends! We have loads of low paying jobs for you, because we don't think Americans should get a decent wage. We want cheap products and cheap labor, open borders, and unlimited free trade. Who cares about American culture and the English language? That's so old fashioned. We are one big, global neighborhood now! Se habla Espanol!"

They're here and we have to deal with that issue..IOW's, they can pick our crops, but we're not going to give them the farm just because they do..

"What makes you think it will make a difference where ever you send it??? "

That's not completely true.

Sometimes they do ignore such things, especially in the Senate. The Senators know that all the people will forget how they voted by the time re-election rolls around for them.

Not so in the House. Their votes are much more memorable.

This issue got swatted down once before in the House because so many people called or wrote and expressed their opinion. The House is still somewhat skittish about this issue because of the previous experience and it wouldn't take much to make remind them.

Remember, if they get legal status then that legitimizes their offspring. Even clarifying the rulings regarding the 14th Amendment won't matter.

When their bambinos turn 18 they will vote for any candidate that promises rewards to madre and padre for all their past "suffering".

To wit; my tagline.

Since 1972 and the unlawful resolution on RvW by the USSC, America's birthrate among multi-generational Americans has declined to below replacement level. Today 2/3 births are to ONE and TWO generation "Americans", or to those whose forefathers had little or no sweat equity in building this great country. Consider how that has the potential to change the dynamics of the USA.

At current immigration levels - legal and illegal, in just ONE more generation, there will be a majority of voters in America through the "anchor baby" system having more generational ties to another sovereign country than to the United States.

Hopefully their bambinos will be "Americanized" to the point that they won't give a rat's hind leg about voting when they turn 18, and up to about 25 or so. I didn't much care about it when I was 18. I was too busy doing other stuff, like girls, cars, stereos etc. Oh, yeah, I joined the USMC, too for 4 years. Didn't see much news or pay much attention then either. I f they are like my 20 year old daughter and her friends, they are more into having a good time and listening to music rather than talk radio or reading Cosmo or H'wood people rags rather than newspapers. ......

Yes.

Bush, Gonzales, the RINOS and all the Dems will work to get through a bill which GIVE to ILLEGAL INVADERS and the corrupt corporations which employ them, the right for them to violate our sovereignty's for a cheap buck.

In the process, people who have no interest in being Americans, no interest in learning English, no desire to absorb our "culture" - the little of it still left, will come be here legally to spawn, steal jobs from native Americans and legal resident aliens at cheap rates, and funnel the money BACK into foreign ratholes - MAINLY Mexico.

So much for "remember the Alamo".

So much for a northeastern yankee claiming to be a good old boy from Texas and spouting rhetoric about "compassionate conservatism."

Bush has been an unmitigated catastrophe and he continues to barrel on, acting more and more like a RINO or a Dem, consorting with the likes of Ted Kennedy.

Its sickening and disgraceful.

The only thing comprehensive about it is that it totally screws citizens and rewards illegals at the same time.

It's a comprehensive sell-out of our country.

We've got examples of what to expect among us now. Some children of immigrants indeed do 'americanize', but far too many see no need to, entirely. More likely they'll pick and choose among those cultural traits that appeal to them.

From what I've seen, first proudly identifying themselves as American is increasingly not among those traits. Its just not as socially acceptable as being oppressed and 'ethnically diverse'.

This country is being invaded and our so-called leaders willingly surrender to the invaders, even offer inducements, in a manner that borders on treason.

Should have figured as much. Bush mentioned the Comprehensive Immigration Bill yesterday during the question and answer period about G;onzales. I guess Bush and Teddie Kennedy will be working together to destroy our country.

Along with a whole bunch more of those globalist traitors. We need to try them for treason and hang the bast*rds. They could care less about Americans. Impeach them NOW!! IF they are not impeachable, surely we can recall them? There has to be some remedy? I have never been so angry in my life. Their arrogance is unbelievable. IF they get away with this, they will keep on taking away our rights.

Last night congressman Poe said the only way we're going to affect this situation is to make a LOT of noise, call, write, fax.
