No need to shout. Of course no one wants to find themselves in that condition. But, you make the best of what life brings, the joys and the sorrows. Terri had family members who loved her and would have cared for her for the rest of her natural life.

Hang on, you began with your wishes, but now your conflating that with what Terri may or may not have wanted. In fact, the testimony from her attorney that, when told (paraphrasig) "Terri, you could end this whole thing just by saying you want to live," and Terri's labored response, "I Waaaa...." - even the fact she ATTEMPTED a response, says quite a lot about that girl's willpower, whatever it was she attempted to articulate. (You DID know she was capable of very crude speech and laughter as a "Vegetable", I trust?)

My son was for twenty six years. He was one happy kid and we were fortunate for the Grace granted for us to care for him. <[> (Except no bed sores, ever, because we didn't have a guy like Michael Schiavo stopping care...)

Some of us love our familes, and would be far more "anguished" by watching them dehydrate/starve than by caring for them.

Terri could have gone HOME with her family. She had parents and siblings willing to take care of her.
