That's how the Associated Press described yesterday's vote by the House to demand a U.S. retreat from Iraq, and in the perverse calculus of Capitol Hill we suppose it was. Speaker Nancy Pelosi has demonstrated she can pile on enough pork to bribe enough Democrats to cobble together a bare, partisan majority to "send a message" that has no chance of becoming law. Congratulations...

Here is another article with the word pork in it. Funny, once again, it is about Pelosi's attempt to bribe the Dems into voting for her bill.
I've marked your words, and I'm keeping a sharp eye!

The WSJ may hound the 'rats because of the pork. You can bet it won't be on the lips of the broadcast and other big name LameStream Media types.

Isn't it ironic that the democrats didn't campaign against the war and it's said that they have a mandate; they did campaign against pork and that isn't a mandate?

A sad day in the history of our nation. The Democratic controlled House of Representatives narrowly passed a Bill that is in fact against the Constitution. The Democrats have been undermining this effort in Iraq since it started and all in an effort to score political points. Now they pass a bill that funds the troops to ineveitable failure. That simply risks lives for nothing. Nancy Pelosi will have our soldiers die for an inevitable pull out. It is hard to fathom exactly what the Democrats are now on record as having done. I believe it is the first time in the history of this nation that politicians have sent our men and women with specific instructions to fight but you cannot win so die in a fight not worth fighting. The Democrats attempt to subvert the Presidents Executive authority as Commander In Chief is a breach of the Constitution. I have asked my Congressman to author a H.R. to specifically ask the SCOTUS to look at this legislation and determine its legality under the Constitution. Congress has no authority to wage or manage wars. The Congress gave the President the authority to act against Saddam Hussein and now they decide to say in effect, well you know its not going exactly how we expected it to so we decided to make the military's job in prosecuting it impossible, therefore retreating from our responsibilities from that which WE caused to happen in the country of Iraq. It is inconceivable that our great nation has come to this. If Congress wishes to lead on the issue of Iraq it can vote not to fund but it cannot subvert the prosecution of the war. Political theater that has the effect of killing our soldiers.

I am so disgusted with the Rats right now it's not even funny. Glad some of us sat out in marginal CD now?
They are playing politics with our troops to appease the radical left. It's about frigging time Bush had a sharply worded retort to the Liebral Hate America crowd. The Constitution is frigging crystal clear that the POTUS is the Commander in Chief of of the armed forces. Not some dingbat from looney liberal San Francisco. They can cut funding, but their power is stopped there.
I am surprised it just took $20,000,000 to bribe her weasel cohorts to turn into a bunch of French-like surrender monkeys.

It is heartbreaking, in fact. My rep (D) voted for it - Ike Skelton who has always been known to support the military because Whiteman AFB is in his district. I sent him a blistering e-mail which he'll probably never read. And even if he does, he'll send back a canned reply that means nothing. America is dying right before our eyes.

You should be way more than disgusted. You should be very, very afraid!

Whoops, I believe crAP reported that the RAT bribes at $20,000,000,000. Now that's more believable. I wonder how much "cold cash" Jefferson got in earmarks.
To: tomnbeverly
So what would anyone expect from the Democrats?
They are anti-American, corrupt, dangerous, and depraved. They are the Political Machine of the Decadence--the Left--that strives to strike a mortal blow to Western Civilization, liberty, justice, and representative government.
And worst of all--it is the Republican Congress and Presidential Administration that handed the U.S. Congress to this gang on a silver platter in 2006.
The actions of the Democrats come as no surprise. They are predictable. There is no depth to which they will not sink.
It is the Republicans who have astonished and failed the American people!

Seriously. Someone needs to totally bring back the French Surrender Monkey picture for our traterous left.
The frustrating thing is that Pelosi knows this goes absolutely nowhere politically. All it does is hurt our troops in the field, but the RATS could care less about those that protect us.

I have to wonder if the Democrats want the U.S. to lose so that they can blame the "defeat" on George W. Bush.
If we follow their plan and get out of Iraq and then things get worse, as they most likely will, the Dems will blame Bush for leaving before the job was done.

I havent seen the vote yet.but I would bet that my Representative ,Steny Hoyer voted for it. The fact that he claims he is the reason the Pax River Naval Station stays open is by his efforts makes no difference to him either. He just stabbed America in the back. Thanks Steny, When are you taking the next junket at my expense?

The only reason Skelton gets away with these things is that he knows his position is safe. The Repubs won't even put up a viable candidate against him. Most people don't know or care that he voted for this.

I have to wonder if the Democrats want the U.S. to lose so that they can blame the "defeat" on George W. Bush. It goes deeper than that. The hard left is allied with the Islamofascists. They would love to see Iraq become a terrorist base that could be used to attack the West. They want the U.S. to lose, period. These are people who in their hearts believe that the 911 victims were "little Eichmanns" and that the terrorists are "freedom fighters." When some of these politicians publically compare our troops to Nazis, one can only wonder what they privately say to each other.

That is a great page, thanks for linking it.
I noticed that supposed "conservative" Rat and NFL quarterback failure Heath Shuler (D-NC 11) voted for the surrender bill. Wonder if the non-moonbat voters over in the NC mountains have figured out yet that instead of electing a "conservative," they elected another one of Nancy's lapdogs? (We know the hippie moonbats in Asheville will love this, of course.)

Bush nailed it when he said, (paraphrased) "Democrats in Congress are putting their own judgment on how to run a military campaign above that of Gen. Petraeus and other generals in the field."
How true. People will get that message if Bush and other Republicans hammer it home again and again.

No, it was a triumph for the fools and idiots that elected the Democrats.
But once their labor has came to full fruitation, they will no longer be laughing.
They do not have the intelligence to realize what is happening or what caused it to happen.
All they will realize is that it is no longer funny.
