A fawning mainstream media

Where Eagles dare, pacifists doctor and dupe

By Judi McLeod

Sunday, March 25, 2007

My friend Jackie Gordon, who exposes anti-war ANSWER for their lies on the Internet, wants to know about pictures posted on their website that appear to be doctored.

As we all know by now, the ragtag, loose knit and lovable vets called The Gathering of Eagles changed history in Washington D.C. on March 17. Traveling in great numbers from far distances, they outnumbered ANSWER three to one--but a fawning mainstream media failed to report the facts, as usual taking the side of ANSWER.

Well, Jackie it is not the "doctored" that so much matters to me but the "duped".

In pictures from anti-war protests of late, I'm seeing more women turning out in burqas. I can't say for certain whether they are actually the women of the enemy, or university students who callously don the dress of the enemy in an effort to get straight to the heart of anyone who has a daughter or son fighting for freedom in harm's way. Has anyone noticed how the so-called "9/11 truthers" keep showing up at anti-war protests?......

One of the rules of perspective is that colors become less bright the more distant something is from you, it creates depth in photos or painted pictures. In this photo the colors of signs at the back of the crowd appear as bright as those at the front. Its a pretty obvious photo shop job.

Well .. there was supposed to be about 8,000 of them .. and that picture doesn't look out of proportion for that amount of people.

The other thing .. look at some of the flags .. there were so many of them, surely one of them would be caught in any attempt to fatten the group. I searched and searched the picture, but I couldn't find any.

Also .. on the weekend of the march - there were all sorts of pictures of this same group posted by the GOE .. and it still looks about the same size to me.

The more I hear of this woman, the more often I am inclined to read her column.

Keep it coming!

It's so much easier to stand and scream anti-war slogans at a protest than it is to stand on the front lines in Iraq.

I like this lady, she says it like it is using plain old common sense.

Three to one? Wow! That gets bigger every time I read the story.

REMEMBER THIS PHOTO--It went around on the Net?

The appearance of the sergeant's sleeve has been altered in the Internet-circulated version to reflect the viewpoint that the U.S. military has shouldered a burden of global importance with little or no support from the countries (Russia, Germany, France) whose flags are pictured below the "DOING THE WORK OF" patch.

Well, this Judi McCloud is doing the work ALL U S "Journalists" SHOULD be doing!

If you go to the link of the original thread, however, there is a steepled church in the background, one that I never saw in DC or Arlington!

U S Park Service Count.

Source or link? The last I heard, the Park Service was out of the counting business.

The numbers aren't important unless they're put in context. ANSWER claimed they'd have tens of thousands there, at best they had 5-8,000.

Gathering of Eagles had hoped to attract a thousand or so, and the actual turnout was a surprise to all of us. There have been various estimates for GOE, ranging from 15,000 to 50,000. It's hard to pin down, because we were located in many different areas around the memorials,Constitution Ave.,and the main speaker stage, etc.

And the Park Service was basically forbidden by Congress to make crowd estimates after controversies over its counts, especially after the Million Man March on Oct. 16, 1995. District and Capitol Police spokesmen followed the Park Service's lead.

You were saying?

They did a great job on the article. I read it this morning, I had a meeting to go so I didn't have time to post this myself. If Canada is willing to help expose their lies, why isn't America? Canada is probobly the most unlikely place to expose the truth, but kudos to Canada Free Press.
