In 2004, John Kerry said that he wouldn't let his faith affect his decision making. Does it affect yours?
Yes, it does. I do believe in the separation of church and state. But I don't think separation of church and state means you have to be free from your faith. My faith informs everything I think and do. It's part of my value system. And to suggest that I can somehow separate and divorce that from the rest of me is not possible. I would not, under any circumstances, try to impose my personal faith and belief on the rest of the country. I don't think that's right. I don't think that's appropriate. But freedom of religion doesn't mean freedom from religion. And I think that anything we can do to promote the idea that people should express their faith is a good thing.

Vanilla, 10 Commandments, Jesus Christ. They're all so very personal, so very private beliefs that they are inconsequential in the Public Square. Now that's the religion that makes America great--emotivism! My beliefs make me feel so good.
Mega-charlatan John Edwards is selling his preposterous whoppers once again.
I don't believe a single word this crooked Liar-for-Hire turned politician has to say.
I normally have a rule about questioning someones faith. I guess I should not call it a "guideline" more than a rule because I'm not buying one piece of this horse sh*t.
In a nutshell, he believes in God to the extent that it doesn't conflict with his own agenda.
Which is to say he doesn't believe in God at all. He does believe in a god - a god named John Edwards.
When I looked at the numbers showing how many American voters are Christians.
This guy, huh? His Bill and Hillary 60 Minutes interview was nauseating--Vote for me, cuz my wife has cancer! (The other Dem slogans being Vote for me or you're a sexist! and Vote for me or you're a racist!)
Yeah, he is starting to make Klinton look humble (is that possible)?
If I was in that situation, the last thing on my mind would be my political career . My candidacy would be over at that point for the truly important things .
Or "Vote For Me or Else You Hate Children...You don't...hate...children.....do you?"
A man of Edwards' means can live for the rest of his life without working, but that won't give him one more second of life with his wife after she's gone.
What kind of hubris must one have to think they MUST continue their losing bid for the White House rather than spend every precious moment with a wife who, in all likelihood, isn't going to be around for a long time?
Don't forget "Vote for me because Paul Wellstone died!"
The obvious answer being, of course, "Continue to decompose," so I don't quite get the point...
News: God doesn't believe in John Edwards!
As long as he supports abortion and the gay agenda he could worship a dead moose and the left would still love that pretty man.
Well, I guess that means he won't impose on us, his belief that Jesus commanded us to raise taxes and pay lots of entitlements to people that will vote democrat.
I was looking for the meter earlier today when Chuck Hagel(I think it was CH) said that, "Trust is the currency of public officials."(paraphrase)
"Faith" in what? The Democratic party? The trial lawyers?
If I was in that situation, the last thing on my mind would be my political career . My candidacy would be over at that point for the truly important things .
Me too 100 percent!!!!
..."He's got to be duplicitous careful; the loony left is a bunch of atheists and they don't like Christians.
As long as he supports abortion and the gay agenda he could worship a dead moose and the left would still love that pretty man"...
I believe you are correct. Is "Love thy neighbor as thy self," a major precept of Christianity, to be found in the mind and heart of the atheist, who is also aligned with the political left? It is hard to think that most of them, having rejected those who follow the teachings of Christ, feel true compassion for their neighbor. In fact, I have never known an atheist who was not to the left politically. The left agenda is more like, "Study your neighbor to see what he/she has that you can take, and then use overwhelming force to keep him from protesting when you take his right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Also, take over the major media so that every deed can be rewritten in terms of political correctness and keep repeating propaganda until everyone believes it." It is unbelievable to me that John Edwards is putting his true love, self, above the well being of his wife at this moment. One of the factors in cancer survival is the love and support of family..At this moment when her days might be numbered, I feel she is doing what she has always done in that marriage, which is supporting him in whatever. She is loving him and he is loving him, too. Cancer survival means that every family member has to fight this cruel disease. I cannot imagine anything more distracting than a political race during such a time. I believe extreme selfishness is one of the traits which develops in people when complex societies begin to fall. And, I think that such behavior is directly related to a loss of faith in God..Think about it..If you truly believe that nothing exists beyond this life, everything changes to a kind of hopelessness..Everything becomes materialistic and desperate..How very sad for humanity that so much of the world now feels this way.
This, my friends, is the true definition of what it means to take the Lord's name in vain.
